In 2000, the Cardinals became the first professional team in Arizona to offer all games – preseason and regular season, home and away - on Spanish radio. For the third season, those broadcasts can be heard on 710 ESPN Deportes Radio in Phoenix.
The broadcast team of Gabriel Trujillo (play-by-play) and former Cardinals offensive lineman Rolando Cantu (analyst) will be back again in 2008.
Cantu played with the Cardinals for two seasons (2005-06), and during the 2005 season, he became the first Mexican born player to ever take the field in an NFL regular season game. In addition to his broadcast duties, Cantu is also the team’s Manager of International Business Affairs.
New in 2008 will be a one hour Spanish language pre-game show, hosted by Trujillo and Cantu.
In 2008 the Arizona Cardinals reached an agreement with Grupo Acir, a radio network in Mexico with over 175 affiliates in 71 cities throughout the country. Starting with the 2008 season, the Cardinals will become the first team in the National Football League to broadcast its games in Mexico and be heard in 12 major cities.
