The Eagles led 21-0 after three possessions and never looked back. Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz finished the game 21-of-30 for 304 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. The Cardinals’ defense failed to get stops on third down and the offense was toothless for much of the afternoon.

Freeze Frame

Three Points

Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz eclipsed two touchdown passes in a game for the first time in his career. He accomplished the feat in the first quarter alone, finding tight end Trey Burton, tight end Zach Ertz and wide receiver Torrey Smith for scoring strikes.

The Cardinals didn’t have the services of long-snapper Aaron Brewer for much of the game after he injured his arm in the first quarter. Defensive lineman Josh Mauro snapped on punts and Evan Boehm on field goals. Phil Dawson’s 51-yard field goal attempt at the end of the first half was blocked, and the snap velocity may have played a role.

Cardinals safety Antoine Bethea picked off a pass in the end zone in the second quarter to keep the Cardinals within 14 points. It was his second interception in as many games.

Who Was Wired

Obviously we didn’t make enough plays out there, and the ballgame started a little too slow in all three phases. If we want to be a good team, we have to make sure we come out with a little more sense of urgency.
