Pro Career:

Originally entered the league as the second of the 49ers two third-round selections (94th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft. Signed a five-year contract with the Cardinals on 3/14/12 as an unrestricted free agent.

2011: Started 13 of 16 regular season games played and also started both postseason matchups, his first career postseason appearance … all 13 regular season starts and both postseason starts came at RG … part of an offensive line that helped pave the way for RB Frank Gore to gain 100+ yards rushing in five consecutive games, establishing a new franchise record … also helped Gore rush for 1,211 yards on the season, his fifth career 1,000-yard campaign, and become the 49ers all-time leading rusher … made his first start of the season at RG @ Phi (10/2) as he helped the Niners accumulate 442 yards of total offense in a come-from-behind victory over the Eagles; yardage total included 164 rushing yards … started at RG and helped the offense rush for 213 yards while not allowing a sack vs. TB (10/9); marked first time since 12/14/06 at Seattle that the team rushed for over 200 yards and did not allow a sack; for the performance, the 49ers o-line was awarded the Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award for Week 5 … left the game (stinger) in the fourth quarter @ Det (10/16); helped Niners rush for 203 yards in the game, the first time the team rushed for 200+ yards in back-to-back games since 1998 (12/6 at Carolina and 12/14 vs. Detroit) … aided the 49ers offense in reaching 253 yards in the first half vs. Cle (10/30), which ranks the highest total by the 49ers in the first half and 2nd highest total in either half on the season … helped the Niners hold on to the ball for 44:16 while not allowing a sack vs. Ari (11/20); marked highest time of possession for team since 11/3/02 at Oakland (44:33) … sidelined with a hamstring injury late in the first quarter @ Bal (11/24) … part of an o-line that did not allow a sack in MNF victory vs. Pit (12/19) … appeared in his first career postseason game when he made the start at RG in the Divisional matchup vs. NO (1/14/12); helped offense total 407 total yards of offense against the Saints, including 143 yards on the ground … started at RG in the NFC Championship Game vs. NYG (1/22/12).

2010: Appeared in 15 games, with two starts at RG … stepped in for starter Chilo Rachal at RG after he suffered a stinger @ Sea (9/12) … started at RG in place of Rachal (stinger) vs. NO (9/20), marking his first start at RG since 10/25/09; part of an offensive line that did not allow a sack of Alex Smith on 32 pass attempts … saw action at RG in place of Rachal who left the game with a  stinger @ Car (10/24); also filled in at LT briefly when Joe Staley left the game with a stinger … started for the second time at RG in place of Rachal vs. StL (11/14) … saw action as a reserve on the offensive line as the offense totaled a season-high 261 rushing yards and two TDs @ Ari (11/29).

2009: For the first time in his career, started all 16 games, lining up at RT in 15 contests and RG for one … started the first five games at RT before moving to RG for the matchup vs. Hou (10/25) … moved back to RT the following week where he started the final 10 games … helped Frank Gore rush for 1,120 yards and a career-high 10 rushing TDs … part of an o-line that led the way for the 49ers to rush for 246 yards as a team vs. Sea (9/20), including a season-high 207 yards and 2 TDs by Gore … served as a key part of an o-line that did not allow a sack of Alex Smith on any of his 41 pass attempts vs. Jax (11/29); marked first time the team did not allow a sack since 11/10/08 at Arizona … helped Gore total 167 rushing yards and a TD vs. Ari (12/14) … led the way as Gore totaled 107 yards and two TDs in the season finale @ StL (1/3/10).

2008: Started 13 of the 14 games he appeared in, starting the first seven games of the season at LG before making six starts at RT (games 9-14) … Niners rushed for over 100 yards in seven of his 13 starts while the offensive line allowed one sack or fewer in three starts … helped Gore eclipse 1,000 yards rushing (1,036) for the third consecutive season … started at LG and helped the Niners rush for a season-high 182 yards vs. Det (9/21), including a season-high 130 yards from Gore … starting at LG, helped lead the way for a 49ers offensive that totaled 131 rushing yards vs. Phi (10/12), including 101 yards and a TD by Gore … replaced in the starting lineup vs. Sea (10/26) by David Baas, but entered the game at RT in the second quarter when Barry Sims left with an ankle injury … started at RT for the injured Sims @ Ari (11/10) and was part of an o-line that did not allow a sack and helped the offense total 116 rushing yards on the day; went on to start the next five games at LT … part of a line that helped the Niners total 135 rushing yards vs. StL (11/16), including 106 yards and a season-high two rushing TDs by Gore … left the game in the first quarter @ Mia (12/14) with an ankle injury that also forced him to miss the  final two games.  

2007: Appeared in all 16 games with 11 starts … became the starter at LT after Jonas Jennings was lost for the season with an ankle injury … helped lead the way for Gore to record his second consecutive 1,000 yard season (1,102) … made his first start of the season vs. Bal (10/7) after Jennings was inactive due to a personal matter … made the first of 11 consecutive starts @ NYG (10/21) in place of Jennings, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury … part of a line that helped the 49ers total 116 rushing yards @ Atl (11/4) … led the way for Gore’s 116 rushing yards and two rushing TDs in the OT victory @ Ari (11/25); SF totaled 137 rushing yards on the ground, the second-highest total of the season … helped the Niners total a season-high 156 rushing yards vs. Cin (12/15), including a season-high 138 yards by Gore.

2006: Appeared in 14 games with six starts during his second NFL season … started three games at LT and three at RG … missed two games with a sprained knee … starting at LT in place of the injured Jonas Jennings vs. StL (9/17), was part of a line that did not allow a sack and received the game ball for their performance … made second career start vs. Phi (9/24) in place of the injured Larry Allen (knee) … started at LG vs. Oak (10/8) and was part of a line that did not allow a sack for the second time that season; moved to LT after Jennings left the game during the first offensive series with a hand injury … started at LT vs. SD (10/15) in place of the injured Jennings … inactive vs. GB (12/10) and @ Sea (12/14) due to a sprained knee and ankle injury suffered @ NO (12/3) … returned to action vs. Ari (12/24) and saw extensive action at LT after Jennings left the game in the first quarter with a dislocated shoulder … started at LT @ Den (12/31) in place of Jennings; was part of a line that helped Gore establish new 49ers rushing record and combined yardage record.

2005: Saw action in all 16 games with eight starts during his rookie season … started seven games at LT and one at RG … saw first action in the trenches at guard late in the fourth quarter @ Phi (9/18) … appeared a guard when starter Eric Heitmann moved to C due to an injury to Jeremy Newberry @ Ari (10/2) … logged time at guard when Heitmann moved to C relieving Newberry vs. Ind (10/9) … saw significant action at RG in the second half vs. NYG (11/6) … made his first career start @ Chi (11/13); started at RG, taking over for Heitmann who moved to C to fill in for Newberry (knee/shoulder); part of o-line that held Bears to zero sacks … received the start at LT in place of Anthony Clement each of the next five games: vs. Sea (11/20), @ Ten (11/27), vs. Ari (12/4), @ Sea (12/11) and @ Jax (12/18) …  started at LT @ StL (12/24) and was instrumental in the 49ers amassing 217 rushing yards, the highest single-game total since the team ran for 206 yards at Philadelphia (12/21/03); part of a line that led the way for RB Maurice Hicks to ramble 73 yards for a TD on the first play of the game; helped Hicks finish with 109 yards and helped the offense rush for three TDs in the game … started at LT vs. Hou (1/1/06) and helped lead the 49ers to their first back-to-back wins since the ’02 season.

College:
A three-year starter for the Ducks, left Oregon as one of the most highly decorated offensive linemen in school history … played in 49 games with 35 starts at three different positions (RG, RT, LT) … became the Ducks first two-time first-team all-league selection in four decades, and won the Morris Trophy as the Pac-10’s top offensive lineman … earned first-team All Pac-10 honors as a senior in ’04 after allowing just two sacks the entire season playing at LT … had his best season as a junior in ’03, when he became the first Oregon offensive lineman in 20 years to be named first-team All Pac-10 … also during his junior season, became the first offensive lineman since the ’95 season to earn Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week for his play in the Ducks win over Michigan …  as a sophomore in ’02, started 10 games and helped the Ducks churn out a first-team all-conference RB while the unit ranked second in the conference in rushing … appeared in 11 games, with his lone start coming at RT, as a freshman in ’01 … redshirted in ’00.

Personal:
Attended La Serna (Whittier, CA) High School, where he was a two-year starter and team captain as a senior … ranked among the best interior linemen and top 80 overall prospects in California by Super Prep … named second-team all-CIF after helping the team rush for more than 2,400 yards as a senior … graduated from Oregon with a degree in Journalism/Public Relations.
