NoteCARDS:

  • The Cardinals second selection in the fifth round (170th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft, Toner became the first offensive lineman from Harvard selected in the draft since C Matt Birk was taken in the sixth round in 1998. Birk played 14 seasons in the NFL and was named to six Pro Bowls.
  • Posted a 3.6 GPA at Harvard while majoring in Government with a minor in Economics.

Campbell Trophy (also known as the Academic Heisman) ... chosen as a finalist for Doris & Eddie Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award ... appeared in the Reese's Senior Bowl following the season and was invited to the NFL Combine … started a career-high 10 games as a junior and was named first-team All-Ivy League … saw action in eight games as a sophomore, missing two games due to injury … started all seven games he appeared in as a true freshman in 2012 following injuries along the offensive line.

Personal: Attended Roncalli (Indianapolis, IN) High School where he earned four letters in football and basketball … was named a team captain in football as a senior and went on to earn first-team Class 4A All-State honors … also earned All-State honors as a junior … totaled 32 tackles, two sacks and an INT as a senior … named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Academic All-State Team … a National Merit Scholar, was also a member of the National Honor Society … majored in Government with a minor in Economics … during his last two years at Harvard, interned at State Street Bank in Boston in the legal and regulatory office.
