Started 12 of 13 games at cornerback in his lone season with Troy in 2008 and also served as the team’s kickoff returner after the departure of All-American Leodis McKelvin to the NFL (Buffalo Bills first-round pick in ’08) … finished the ’08 season averaging 25.7 yards per kickoff return which ranked first in the Sun Belt Conference … went to Troy following two seasons at East Central (MS) Community College … spent his redshirt freshman season at Northwestern State (LA) University … ruled academically ineligible for his senior season at Troy in 2009.

2008: Started 12 of 13 games in his first season with Troy after transferring from East Central (MS) Community College … recorded 76 tackles, four tackles for loss, two INTs, nine passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble … also handled kickoff return duties, taking over for All-American Leodis McKelvin … finished the season averaging 25.7 yards per kickoff return which ranked first in the Sun Belt Conference and was 2.5 yards more per return than McKelvin averaged during his All-American season … returned a blocked FG attempt 65 yards for a TD … following a game against North Texas, became the first Trojan to ever capture Sun Belt Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors in the same week after recording 11 tackles (two for a loss) and returning a kickoff 95 yards for a TD … earned Troy defensive player of the week honors twice and special teams player of the week four times.
2006-07: Played two seasons at East Central (Decatur, MS) Community College … recorded five INTs during his freshman season at ECCC, earning the Kemba Bryant Most Valuable Defensive Back Award.
2005: Redshirted at as a freshman at Northwestern State (LA) University.

Full name Jorrick Randell Calvin … a two-year letter winner at Redemptorist (Baton Rouge, LA) High School and also at his final season at Scotlandville Magnet (Baton Rouge, LA) High School ... helped Redemptorist to back-to-back state titles in 2002 and 2003, posting a combined record of 29-1 over two seasons ... a first-team all-district, all-area and all-metro pick as a senior at Scotlandville ... named to Capital City All-Star team and was selected as the best defensive back ... recorded 26 career INTs, including 13 in his senior season ... also saw time at receiver, running back and returned kicks.
