Originally a third-round selection (87th overall) by Philadelphia in the 2007 NFL Draft. Was with the Eagles for four seasons before signing with the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent on 7/29/11.
2011: Played in all 16 games and made one start in his first season with the Cardinals … totaled 22 tackles, two passes defensed and 12 special teams tackles … made Cards debut and played on defense and special teams vs. Car (9/11) … with LB Daryl Washington out due to a calf injury, saw significant action on defense and recorded a season-high seven tackles @ Was (9/18); six unassisted tackles led all LBs … made his first start as a Cardinal and registered five tackles @ Sea (9/25); also had one special teams tackle … had one pass defensed and saw action on both defense and special teams @ Min (10/9) … played in 50th career game vs. Pit (10/23); recorded one tackle for loss, one QB pressure and one special teams tackle … had one unassisted tackle and one special teams tackle @ Bal (10/30) … collected three tackles and had one pass defensed @ SF (11/20); also had two special teams tackles … recorded two tackles and two special teams tackles @ StL (11/27) … registered one tackle and two special teams tackles vs. SF (12/11) … had one unassisted tackle and one special teams tackle vs. Sea (1/1/12).
2010: Started all 12 games he appeared in and ranked second on the team with 88 tackles, adding a sack, an INT and five passes defensed … inactive (head) @ Det (9/19) … returned from a head injury, and posted a season-high 14 tackles @ Jax (9/26) … notched a sack of Falcons QB Matt Ryan and added 12 tackles vs. Atl (10/17) … for the second time in three games, totaled a team-high 12 tackles vs. Ind (11/7), added a QB hurry and two passes defensed … picked off an Eli Manning pass on the Giants final offensive play to seal the Eagles 27-17 win on Sunday Night Football vs. NYG (11/21) … totaled 19 tackles over the next three games before suffering a dislocated elbow in the second quarter @ Dal (12/19) and missed the final three regular season games and the Eagles Wild Card playoff game.
2009: Placed on injured reserve (knee) on 9/1.
2008: In his first season as a starter, finished second on the team with a career-high 151 tackles and led the team with nine tackles for loss … added a sack, an INT, five passes defensed and his first career fumble recovery while starting all 16 games … named to Peter King’s (SI.com) All-Pro team at MLB … posted at least 10 tackles in seven games and three games with at least 15 tackles … in a six game span between 10/5 vs. Washington and 11/16 at Cincinnati, totaled 79 tackles and had at least 10 tackles in five of those games … in the season opener, posted 13 tackles, a sack and two passes defensed; dating back to his rookie season in ’07, marked the second sack in three games … recovered his first career fumble which led to an Eagles FG @ Chi (9/28) … the following week vs. Was (10/5), recorded a team-high 15 tackles and added a QB hurry … posted his second consecutive game with at least 10 tackles @ SF (10/12), piling up 14 tackles on the day … established a then-career-high with 16 tackles vs. NYG (11/9) only to break that record the following week @ Cin (11/16) when he totaled 17 tackles, two tackles for a loss and a QB hurry; 17 tackles remains a career-high … tipped a Kurt Warner pass that fell into the hands of Joselio Hanson for an INT vs. Ari (11/27); the turnover led to an Eagles TD on the ensuing possession … recorded six tackles and intercepted a Ken Dorsey pass in Browns territory in the fourth quarter of a win vs. Cle (12/15); INT led to a TD on the Eagles next possession … started first career playoff game in a Wild Card win @ Min (1/4/09), totaling eight tackles, a QB hurry and a pass defensed … in the Divisional matchup @ NYG (1/11/09), established a postseason career-high with nine tackles … matched that career-high the following week in the NFC Championship Game @ Ari (1/18/09), totaling nine tackles.
2007: Appeared in all 16 games and made one start as a rookie for the Eagles … finished second on the team with 17 special teams tackles … recorded his first defensive statistics in the third game of the season, totaling three tackles in a win vs. Det (9/23) … had a breakout game in his first career start, recording 10 tackles, a sack and an INT of Drew Brees in a win over NO (12/23); became the first player in Eagles history to register his first career sack and first career INT in his first career start.
College:
A three-year starter at SLB for Nebraska, appearing in 43 games (29 starts) and registered 175 tackles, 25 tackles for a loss, four sacks, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and an INT which he returned 43 yards for a TD … as a senior in ’06, started all 14 games and led the Cornhuskers in tackles with 76 and also added a sack, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries and six tackles for a loss … as a junior in ’05, recorded 26 tackles, five tackles for a loss, three sacks and an INT which he returned for a TD in five starts before a knee injury forced him to miss the final seven games … made the move to SLB as a sophomore in ’04 and started 10 of 11 games played, finishing second on the team with 67 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and a forced fumble after serving as a reserve DE the previous two season … appeared in 13 games as a freshman DE and totaled six tackles and three tackles for a loss … redshirted as a true freshman.
Personal:
Battled injuries during his prep career at Highland (Salt Lake City, UT) High School, limiting his football action to just his junior season … started in the Highland secondary, saw action at QB, and also returned kicks, helping his team to an 11-2 record and a Class 4A state runner-up finish … also started as a wing on Highland’s rugby team that won three straight national championships … younger brother, Thomas, plays safety at Utah … two-time Big 12 Academic Honor Roll selection at Nebraska, earned an Accounting and Finance degree.
