Biography

Pro Career: Originally entered the NFL with the Chicago Bears as a rookie free agent on 7/26/11. Released by the Bears on 9/3/11 and was re-signed to the practice squad on 9/4/11. Elevated to the 53-man roster on 10/11/11 where he spent the remainder of the season. After three seasons in Chicago, signed with the Cardinals as a free agent on 5/14/14.

2013: Saw action in 13 games on special teams and finished the season with 10 special teams tackles.

2012: Played in all 16 games and made his first career start, finishing the year with seven tackles and two tackles for loss on defense to go along with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams … saw action in the season opener and had one special teams tackle … posted a special teams tackle vs. Jax (10/7) and vs. Det (10/22) … registered a season-high two special teams tackles vs. Ten (11/4) … posted a special teams tackle on Monday Night Football @ SF (11/19) … recovered a fumble on a punt return by Randall Cobb in the fourth quarter at the Packers 16-yard line vs. GB (12/16); Bears added a FG on the ensuing drive, cutting the Packers lead to 21-13 … registered his first two career tackles on defense and added a special teams tackle @ Ari (12/23) … made his first career start in the regular season finale @ Det (12/30) and posted a career-high six tackles, including two tackles for loss.

2011: Appeared in four games for the Bears after spending the first six weeks of the season on the team’s practice squad; registered one special teams tackles before a hamstring injury landed him on injured reserve on 11/16 … made his NFL debut on special teams vs. Min (10/16), five days after being elevated from the practice squad … registered his first career special teams tackle @ Phi (11/7) … suffered a hamstring injury vs. Det (11/13) and was placed on IR.

College: During four seasons at Delaware, Walters started all 50 games he appeared in and registered 258 tackles (189 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 16 INTs, 31 passes defensed and a sack … ranks second all-time in school annals in passes defensed and fourth all-time in INTs … two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association honoree … as a senior in 2010, started all 13 games and helped Delaware to the Football Championship Subdivision National title game while being named a College Sports News All-American and third-team AP All-American … for the season, registered 75 tackles, a team-high seven INTs, four tackles for loss, eight passes defensed, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery … his seven INTs ranked fourth in the NCAA … as a junior in ’09, earned first-team All-CAA honors when he totaled 55 tackles, 10 passes defensed and an INT … as a sophomore in ’08, posted 65 tackles and four INTs in 11 starts … started all 15 games as a freshman and collected 63 tackles, four INTs, nine passes defensed and 6.5 tackles for loss for a team that advanced to the NCAA Championship game.

Personal: Attended Cardinal O’Hara (Philadelphia, PA) High School where he was a two-time All-Catholic performer … during his junior season in 2004, led the Lions to the PCL title … as a senior, led the Lions back to the Championship game in a season in which he was an All-Catholic, all-area and All-State performer and was named the league MVP … went on to play in the prestigious Big 33 game, in which PA beat Ohio … in March of 2014, had his #9 jersey retired in a ceremony at Cardinal O’Hara.
