Biography

NoteCARDS:

• Acquired by the Cardinals on 4/2/13 in a trade with the Oakland Raiders that involved swapping 2013 draft picks (a sixth round pick to Oakland in exchange for its seventh round pick) and a conditional pick in 2014. Following the trade, Palmer agreed to a three-year contract with the Cardinals.

• In his first season in Arizona, Palmer started all 16 games and threw for a career-high 4,274 yards, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for 4,000+ yards with three different teams (Cincinnati, 2006-07, Oakland, 2012). Palmer also became the third QB in franchise history to top 4,000 yards in a season and the first since Kurt Warner (4,583 in 2008).

• For the season, Palmer completed 362 of 572 pass attempts (63.3%) with 24 TDs. The 362 completions and 572 attempts both rank second in franchise history for a single season. The 4,274 yards ranks third, 63.3 completion percentage is fourth and 24 TD passes is tied for sixth.

• Reached 30,000 career passing yards and 200 career TD passes during the ’13 season. Enters the 2014 season ranked 25th all-time in NFL history with 33,739 career passing yards.

• Palmer had two 400-yard passing games (419 at Jacksonville, 11/17/13; 407 vs. San Francisco, 12/29/13) and five 300-yard games in 2013, trailing only Kurt Warner (7, 2008) and Neil Lomax (7, 1984) for the most in a season in team history. For his career, has thrown for 300+ yards in a game 32 times, including seven career outings with 400+ passing yards.

• Five 300-yard games in 2013 represent the second-highest total of his career for a single season, trailing only his six 300-yard games in 2012 with Oakland.

• Threw for season-high 419 yards and two TDs on 30-of-42 passing in Week 11 at Jacksonville, including a career-long 91-yard TD pass to Michael Floyd, tied for the sixth-longest play in franchise history.

• Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after completing 26 of 37 passes for 314 yards and two TDs against the Colts in Week 12 of the ’13 season. Marked his third career Player of the Week honor after winning AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors twice (Week 7-2009 and Week 13-2004).

• In Week 14 against the Rams, he completed 27 of 32 passes (84.4%) for 269 yards and a TD. The 84.4 completion percentage was the highest of his career and the second-best single-game completion percentage in franchise history. Only Kurt Warner (NFL-record 92.3% at Jax on 9/20/09) ranks higher.

• For his career, Palmer has started 137 of the 138 games he has appeared in, completing 2,930 of 4,682 pass attempts (62.6%) for 33,739 yards, 213 TDs, 152 INTs and a passer rating of 85.9.
