Biography

Pro Career: Originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (176th overall) of the Miami Dolphins in the 2008 NFL Draft. Released on 9/24/08 and added to Miami’s practice squad on 9/26/08. Signed from Dolphins practice squad by the Baltimore Ravens on 12/10/08. Re-signed with Ravens as an exclusive rights free agent on 4/16/10 and then re-signed with Baltimore again on 7/30/11. Released on 9/3/11 and signed with Jacksonville Jaguars on 5/1/12. Signed with Tennessee Titans 5/8/13 and was released on 8/30/13. Signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on 5/27/14.

2012: Played in 11 games and made the first two starts of his career in his only season with Jacksonville … recorded career highs with 143 rushing yards on 40 carries and seven receptions for 60 yards … also returned 10 kickoffs for 233 yards and had five special teams tackles … returned three kickoffs for 63 yards and had one special teams tackle in season opener @ Min (9/9) … had season-high 79 yards on three kickoff returns vs. Hou (9/16) … notched first career reception for 16 yards @ GB (10/28) … carried five times for 15 yards and had an eight-yard reception vs. Det (11/4) … posted career-long 26-yard reception vs. Ind (11/8) … made first career NFL start and posted career-best numbers with 24 carries for 80 yards and three receptions @ Hou (11/18) … started for the second straight week and ran for 45 yards on eight carries vs. Ten (11/25) … placed on injured reserve (groin) on 11/27.

2010: Saw action in all 16 games and both postseason games … led Ravens with 24 kickoff returns for 562 yards (23.4 avg.) and ranked third on the team with a career-best 12 special teams tackles … notched season-high 92 yards on three kick returns @ Cin (9/19) … returned four kickoffs for 85 yards vs. Cle (9/26) … had three returns for 76 yards vs. Buf (10/24) … totaled 79 yards on three kickoff returns and had a career-high four special teams tackles vs. NO (12/19) … returned three kickoffs for 65 yards in two playoff games … recorded first career postseason rushing attempts, carrying four times for 13 yards in Wild Card game @ KC (1/9/11).

2009: Appeared in seven games and both playoff games … ran for 17 yards on five carries, returned nine kickoffs for 283 yards and totaled seven special teams tackles … inactive for nine of first 10 games before playing in the final six contests of the regular season … rushed five times for 17 yards vs. Det (12/13) … had three special teams tackles vs. Chi (12/20) … took over kick return duties in Week 16 and set career highs with five returns for 145 yards @ Pit (12/27) … returned four kickoffs for 138 yards, including a career-long 53-yard return @ Oak (1/3/10); also tied for team lead with two special teams tackles … totaled 97 yards on five kickoff returns in two postseason contests, including playoff career-high 66 yards on three returns in Divisional Playoff @ Ind (1/16/10).

2008: Played in one game for the Ravens after being signed off Miami’s practice squad … inactive for first three games of the season with the Dolphins and was released on 9/24 … signed to Dolphins practice squad on 9/26 … signed by Ravens to active roster on 12/10 … inactive vs. Pit (12/14) and did not play @ Dal (12/20) … made NFL debut and had two carries for 27 yards in season finale vs. Jax (12/28) … inactive for all three postseason games.

College: Four-year letterman at Toledo where he totaled 589 carries for 3,119 yards and 28 TDs … inducted into school’s Hall of Fame in 2014 … left as the fourth-leading rusher in school history … earned first-team All-MAC honors as a junior and senior … started all 12 games his senior season and ranked ninth in the country with 1,511 yards on 276 carries and scored a career-high 14 TDs … also had 17 receptions for 157 yards and one TD and averaged 28 yards on 20 kickoff returns, including an 82-yard return for a score … ran for 1,131 yards and eight TDs on 207 carries as a junior in 2006 … had five 100-yard rushing games on the season … played 11 games and totaled 294 yards and three TDs on 64 rushing attempts as a sophomore … saw action in nine games and ran for 183 yards and three TDs on 42 carries as a true freshman in 2004.

Personal: Attended H.H. Dow (Midland, MI) High School where he was named first-team All-Class A All-State as a senior after rushing for 1,507 yards and 23 TDs … earned league’s MVP award … selected first-team all-league as a junior … made league’s all-academic team each of his last three years … also lettered in track and basketball … married to wife, Stacey, and has two sons, Jayan and Dejhon … majored in Information Systems.
