  • Selected in the fourth round (120th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft, Thomas was the sixth QB taken in the draft behind Blake Bortles (3rd, Jacksonville), Johnny Manziel (22nd, Cleveland), Teddy Bridgewater (32nd, Minnesota), Derek Carr (36th, Oakland) and Jimmy Garoppolo (62nd, New England).
  • Appeared in two regular games and also played in the Wild Card matchup vs. Carolina as a rookie in 2014. In his first career NFL appearance, threw an 81-yard TD pass to RB Andre Ellington for his first career completion in Week 5 at Denver.

Personal: Attended Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) High School where he played WR as a sophomore before switching to QB for his final two seasons … as a senior in 2008, rushed for 842 yards and 11 TDs, and completed 118 of 204 pass attempts for 1,535 yards and 20 TDs … on defense, totaled 80 tackles and four INTs as a DB … rated the 19th-best athlete in the country by Super Prep, the fourth-best player in the state of Virginia … ESPN called Thomas the ninth-best athlete in the country and the Prep Star Top 100 Dream Team pick … was also a Super Prep and Prep Star All-American choice … named the Associated Press Group AA Player of the Year in 2008 … competed in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio … after switching to QB as a junior, went on to spark the team to a 9-4 record as he accounted for 1,650 yards in total offense, passing for 1,150 yards with 13 TDs while rushing for 600 yards and eight TDs … in addition to football, also lettered in basketball and track, earning All-State track honors as a junior and senior in the 110-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles, high jump and discuss … earned a degree in Human Development and is working on a second degree in Psychology.
