Pro Career:

Originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. Played two seasons for the Jaguars before being traded to the Oakland Raiders on 4/21/10 for a fifth round selection. Signed with the Cardinals as a free agent on 5/24/12.

2011: Played in all 16 games for the third time in four seasons and made three starts at LB … finished the season with 24 tackles, two passes defensed and a forced fumble … tied a career high with five solo tackles and forced a fumble in the season opener @ Den (9/12); forced a Knowshon Moreno fumble in the second quarter that led to a Raiders FG on the ensuing possession … posted four tackles @ Buf (9/18) … made his first start of the season and finished with three tackles and a career high two passes defensed vs. NYJ (9/25) … started and tied his season high with five tackles @ Hou (10/9) ... played mainly on special teams over the final 11 games, totaling five special teams tackles.

2010: Appeared in 15 games with a career high 12 starts at LB for the Raiders after being acquired from the Jaguars in a pre-draft trade … totaled career highs with 40 tackles and a fumble recovery while also adding his second career INT, two passes defensed and a safety … started at LB in the season opener and recorded a career-high six tackles @ Ten (9/12) … turned in one of the finest performances of his career @ Ari (9/26), finishing with three tackles, a tackle for loss and an INT while also recovering a muffed punt on special teams; picked off a Derek Anderson pass in the second quarter and the Raiders scored a TD on the ensuing possession, giving Oakland a 20-17 lead; recovered a muffed punt at the AZ 17-yard line in the fourth quarter that led to a FG on the ensuing possession, bringing Oakland to within 24-23 … after appearing as a reserve for two games, made the first of seven consecutive starts at LB vs. Sea (10/31), adding two tackles … matched his career high with six tackles vs. KC (11/7) … posted four tackles and recovered a Rashard Mendenhall fumble in the fourth quarter @ Pit (11/21) … totaled three tackles and a safety vs. Den (12/19); safety came when he tackled Broncos RB Correll Buckhalter in the end zone in the fourth quarter … recorded four tackles and a pass defensed in the season finale @ KC (1/2/11).

2009: Appeared in all 16 games for the second straight season with seven starts … started two games at LB and four games at DE while recording 30 tackles, his first career INT, a forced fumble and 11 special teams tackles … started four of the final five games at DE … totaled four tackles and a forced fumble in the season opener @ Ind (9/13); tackled RB Joseph Addai for a one-yard loss and forced a fumble on the play that was recovered by the Jaguars in the second quarter; ensuing possession resulted in a Jacksonville FG and a 3-0 lead … made his first career start the following week vs. Ari (9/20), opening the game at LB … started at LB the following week @ Hou (9/27) and had four tackles … started at DE for the first time and finished with three solo tackles vs. KC (11/8) … recorded his first career INT @ NYJ (11/15) when he stepped in front of a Mark Sanchez pass in the third quarter and returned it 37 yards; also added one tackle … returned to the starting lineup at DE and had two solo tackles vs. Hou (12/6) … matched his season high with four tackles while starting at DE @ NE (12/27).

Played in 49 games with 23 starts in four seasons with Auburn, totaling 117 tackles (74 solo), 26 sacks, 37 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles and 38 QB pressures … tied the Tigers 22-year old record for career sacks (26), matching the mark held by Gerald Robinson … left school as one of just four players with at least 20 career sacks … as a senior in 2007, started seven of 11 games played and recorded 38 tackles, three sacks, seven tackles for loss and two forced fumbles … one of 10 finalists for the Awards and Recognition Association (ARA) Sportsmanship Award, which is given annually to one NCAA Division I football player who best personifies the spirit of sportsmanship … as a junior in ’06, started all 13 games at DE and totaled 35 tackles while also establishing a career highs in sacks (9.5), tackles for loss (12) and forced fumbles (3) … earned first-team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches and Associated Press … appeared in 12 games with three starts at DE as a sophomore in ’05, totaling 21 tackles, six sacks, eight tackles for loss and a forced fumble … as a freshman in ’04, played in all 13 games and finished the season with 23 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

Personal:

Attended Greenville-Westin (MS) High School where he was a four-year starter … finished his senior season with 86 tackles, 22 sacks and three fumbles recoveries, earning USA Today All-USA second-team honors … also played tight end … lettered in basketball, competed in the discus and long jump in track and was also a member of the powerlifting team … wife, Treska, was a member of the Auburn track and field team.
