The Glendale City Council has officially renamed Bethany Home Road to Cardinals Way between 91st to 99th Avenues. The renaming is in recognition of the significant economic and community impact the Cardinals have had on Glendale, the West Valley and the entire state of Arizona.

The Cardinals play their home games and hold their annual training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium. Due to the leadership and relationships of Cardinals president Michael Bidwill, the NFL owners recently awarded Super Bowl LVII in 2023 to Arizona. The stadium has already hosted two Super Bowls, the Pro Bowl, the NCAA Men's Final Four, CONCACAF Gold Cup, WrestleMania, BCS and CFP National Championships in addition to hosting the biggest bands and artists in the world including; the Rolling Stones, U2, Guns N' Roses, Taylor Swift and many more.

"Naming the road in front of the stadium, Cardinals Way, was something I wanted to do as a special way to recognize an organization that represents Glendale and Arizona in the very best ways," Mayor Jerry Weiers said. "The Bidwill family has established a winning football tradition and a true spirit of community giving in Arizona. When visitors from all over the state, the U.S. and the world travel to the stadium, it is only fitting that they should be heading towards Cardinals Way."

In addition to the tremendous economic impact of the Cardinals, the Cardinals charitable and community work is having an even bigger impact in Arizona. Through programs such as Cardinals Charities, Players Kids Camps, Good Sports Programs, Touchdown for Schools, Arizona Cardinals Women's Club, Military Recognition and Make a Wish programs, the Cardinals organization is partnering to make a real difference in people's lives every day.

The city of Glendale is coordinating with the Cardinals and the Arizona Department of Transportation to develop a schedule for the replacement of signage along the Loop 101 and Bethany Home Road. The future road from 83rd to 91st Avenues will also be named Cardinals Way once the road is constructed with planned developments. Information and dates on a ceremonial sign unveiling will be provided in the future.
