Heading Back To Mosul

Cheerleaders stayed at a hotel which used to be one of Saddam Hussein's palaces

We awoke at Sykes to clear skies and were finally able to make our way back to Mosul in the Black Hawks! We were rushing to make our ten o'clock flight from Mosul into Baghdad. There was a point where we were told we did not make it and that we would have to catch the next flight, however they were able to make it happen for us!

We boarded the C130 and made our way! Once we landed we were fortunate enough to have been driven to a hotel...yes, I said hotel! And even better..the hotel is actually one of Saddam's palaces. The hotel is surrounded by a body of water created by Saddam. We were informed that he would drain and refill the water every so often with the city's water, leaving his people without water for days.

We were supposed to have a meet and greet, and a show today, but the show was canceled due to weather conditions. We are crossing our fingers for a sunny sky tomorrow so we are able to do two meet and greets followed by short performances, and a full show in the evening!
