The lone Cardinals draft pick to be cut, cornerback Harlan Miller, was one of eight players the Cards are bringing back for their initial practice squad.

Miller, a sixth-round pick, was cut in lieu of a cornerback group that has Patrick Peterson, third-round pick Brandon Williams, Justin Bethel and just-acquired-in-trade Marcus Cooper.

The Cards are also bringing back veteran wide receiver Brittan Golden, tight end Ifeanyi Momah and linebacker Shaq Riddick.

Four undrafted rookies that made impressions during the preseason – running back Elijhaa Penny, wide receiver Chris Hubert, tight end Hakeem Valles and tackle Givens Price – round out the group.

The Cardinals still have two open spots on the practice squad. While nothing has been announced, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Cardinals would be signing two quarterbacks – Aaron Murray, who had been cut by the Chiefs, and Zac Dysert, who was released by the Dolphins. It would be an interesting move for the Cards, who are still seeking long-term solutions at the position. Once the regular season begins, there are few reps to get for one third-string quarterback, much less two.

Quarterback Matt Barkley, cut by the Cardinals Saturday, was reportedly signing with the Bears to their practice squad.

Safety Matthias Farley, whom the Cardinals had liked, was claimed off waivers by the Colts. He was the only Cardinal cut this week who was claimed.

The Cardinals, who stood 30th on the waiver wire, did not end up with any waiver claims. It's unknown if they put in for any.
