HOUSTON – Larry Fitzgerald is signed through the 2018 season, but the 2017 season is all he is talking about right now.

In his first comments since signing his extension Friday, Fitzgerald was asked if it meant he would play in 2018.

"My only focus is on Jacksonville (next week)," Fitzgerald said after the Cardinals' 31-21 loss to the Texans. "We lost a tough one today and we have a really, really good defense coming in at

home this (next) weekend. Two good defenses follow that and we have to focus on that.

"That's where all my attention is focused."

Asked if that meant he has not decided what he will do in 2018, Fitzgerald said "it means I'm focused on the next game."

"It's in the midst of the season," Fitzgerald said. "It's a team game, it's not about any one individual. That's where I'm trying to keep the focus."

Fitzgerald was the Cardinals' leading receiver against the Texans, making nine catches for 91 yards and a score.

Fitzgerald surpassed Tony Gonzalez for fifth all-time in NFL receiving yards during the game, when he hauled in a 20-yard touchdown catch from Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert became the 14th different quarterback to throw a touchdown pass to Fitzgerald in his career.
