Larry Fitzgerald On Future: "I'll Let You Know"

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald says he still has not yet made up his mind about whether he will play in 2018.

The Cardinals' final home game of 2017 is coming Sunday, and it's possible it will be the final home game for Larry Fitzgerald.

The wide receiver signed a contract extension for 2018 in November, but he did not commit then to play next year and he still wasn't on Thursday. Fitzgerald said he didn't know exactly when he was going to decide on his 2018 playing status.

"I'm going to take some time," Fitzgerald said. "Figure it out. I'll let you know, though."

He did rule out making Sunday anything more than any other Sunday, even if it could be his last home game. He won't linger on the field longer or take in the crowd.

"No," Fitzgerald said. "I'll do what I usually do, say hello to my guys on the other team and go to the locker room. No different."

Fitzgerald has 92 catches for 982 yards and five touchdowns this season, so he has a chance to eclipse both the 100-catch and 1,000-yard marks against the Giants.

Although he has not made a decision, Fitzgerald did reflect on his career as his 14th season comes to a close, including his first home game – a 23-12 loss to New England at Sun Devil Stadium in 2004.

"It's been a good ride," Fitzgerald said. "I've met a lot of great people and made a lot of wonderful memories. I wish we would've had some more wins. That first game at Sun Devil wasn't fun. I think it was against the Patriots. I remember (linebacker) Willie McGinest knocking me down on a crossing route and (safety) Rodney Harrison chasing me around, trying to hurt me. That wasn't a good day."
