Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson makes the first of his two interceptions in the Pro Bowl Sunday.

Up until the final minute of Sunday's Pro Bowl, Patrick Peterson was the likely defensive MVP of the game.

But the Cardinals cornerback was edged out when Denver linebacker Von Miller had a strip-sack of Rams quarterback Jared Goff, forcing a turnover that sealed the AFC's come-from-behind 24-23 win at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

"#ROBBED" Peterson tweeted soon after the game ended, after he had two interceptions in the game – double his

amount from the regular season.

It's been a tough month for Peterson, who was also disappointed he did not receive all-pro status.

Before the MVP was announced, Peterson simply said "just trying ways to get better."

Later, he tweeted "Through all the disrespect and everything I accomplish on the field going unnoticed, I still smile. That will never change. #Truth" A picture of Peterson wearing a huge grin as he clutched his first interception accompanied the tweet.

Rookie safety Budda Baker also made an impact in the game, picking up a fumbled Tyreek Hill punt return and returned it for a touchdown, although the score did not count when it was determined Hill muffed the play. The NFC was held to a field goal afterward.

Linebacker Chandler Jones was the third Cardinal who participated in the game. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald had been selected but did not go. (Safety Tyrann Mathieu, who had been picked as an alternate, [tweeted Sunday

morning](https://twitter.com/Mathieu_Era/status/957476629944651776) he had been asked to play but declined because it was his son's birthday.)

"It was a fun experience," Jones said. "To be a part of this, when we get together and do events like this, it's great."

Jones predicted Peterson would get the MVP award, but that did not happen. Titans tight end Delanie Walker was named offensive MVP after catching two touchdowns, including the game-winner.

Walker had also been the intended target in the end zone on the first of Peterson's two picks. His other interception came in coverage of the Chargers' Keenan Allen.

"There were Cardinals all over the place," Peterson said. "Chandler got a couple of quarterback hurries, Budda picked up a fumble, me getting two interceptions. I just wish we would've won the game."
