Draft Party Kicks Off Three-Day "Spring Tailgate"

Great Lawn at University of Phoenix Stadium is spot for fun, taping of TV special

The Cardinals 2017 Draft Party presented by Arizona Ford Dealers will be Thursday on the Great Lawn outside University of Phoenix Stadium starting at 4:30 p.m.

The event lasts until 9 p.m. The draft begins at 5 p.m., with the Cardinals schedule to make the 13th pick of the first round.

It isn't the only day of festivities at the Great Lawn during the draft. The "Spring Tailgate" will continue Friday and Saturday. Friday's party runs from 4-9:30 p.m., while Saturday will be from 5-10 p.m.

Admission and parking is free. Parking will be available in the West (Orange) parking lot at University of

Phoenix Stadium.

The Cardinals will record a one-hour TV special on Saturday night at 7 p.m. that will include President Michael Bidwill, General Manager Steve Keim and special guest players. Hosted by Paul Calvisi and Ron Wolfley, the special will air May 6 at approximately 8 p.m.

Cardinals merchandise, including 2017 NFL Draft gear, will be available for purchase. Food and beverages will be available for sale at the team's Primetime Grill and local food trucks.

Fans can meet Cardinals players and coaches, team mascot Big Red and have the first opportunity to see the 2017 Cardinals Cheerleaders while watching live NFL Network coverage of the draft on giant video boards.

Among the features for fans:

Kids Interactive Zone: Featuring combine activities and inflatables

Autographs: Cardinals players and cheerleaders will sign autographs

Carnival Rides: Various carnival rides and games will be available for fans to enjoy

Entertainment:Options include a 150-foot zipline along with face painters and balloon artists for guests

Big Red Siren:Fans can take their picture on the Cardinals "Big Red Siren"

Virtual Reality Lounge presented by COX: The Virtual Reality Lounge will give a fully immersed 360-degree experience where fans of all ages can step into the action on the field with the Cardinals. Fans will use virtual reality headsets and utilize 360-degree video.

Live music will be played Friday at Saturday. The weekend concludes with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
