  • Signed a three-year contract with the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent on 3/9/17 after spending the last three seasons in San Francisco. Began his career playing eight seasons with the Colts (2006-13).

2015: Started all seven games he appeared in before a torn pectoral muscle suffered in Week 7 ended his season … recorded 56 tackles, one sack and two passes defensed before being place on injured reserve on 10/25 … in the season opener vs. Min (9/14), totaled eight tackles, a tackle for loss, a pass defensed and a sack to help 49ers earn a 20-3 victory over the Vikings on MNF … recorded a season-high 10 tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass defensed @ NYG (10/11) … playing on TNF vs. Sea (10/22), totaled five tackles before an injury suffered in the second quarter forced him from the game; placed on IR (pectoral) on 10/25 … when he missed the 49ers Week 8 contest at St. Louis, it snapped a streak of 119 consecutive starts.

2014: During his first season with the 49ers, earned his third career Pro Bowl selection after starting all 16 games for the seventh consecutive season and recorded 121 tackles, a sack, four INTs (one returned for TD), a career-high 10 passes defensed and a forced fumble … named 49ers Bill Walsh Award winner, an award voted on by coaches and given to the team’s MVP to honor outstanding individual performance … marked his eighth career 100-tackle campaign and seventh in a row … in his 100th consecutive start, registered a season-high 12 tackles, an INT and a forced fumble vs. Phi (9/28) and was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career; also tackled LeSean McCoy at the SF 2-yard line on a 2nd-n-goal on what would eventually be a game-sealing goal line stand … posted his first sack as a member of the 49ers @ StL (10/13) and added seven tackles … recorded his second INT of the season, and 16th of his career vs. StL (11/2) when he picked off an Austin Davis pass in the second quarter; ensuing drive resulted in a 27-yard TD catch by Anquan Boldin to give the Niners a 10-3 lead … intercepted Drew Brees on the game’s opening drive @ NO (11/9), which led to a four-yard TD run and a 7-0 lead on the ensuing possession … posted the first defensive TD of his career vs. SD (12/20) when he intercepted Philip Rivers and returned it 49 yards for a TD in the second quarter, giving the 49ers a 21-0 lead.

Name is pronounced ANN-twahn buh-THAY …  attended Denbigh (Newport News, VA) High School where he lettered in both football and basketball … named second-team all-Peninsula District as a junior defensive back and was first-team all-Peninsula District as a linebacker during his senior season … earned all-area and all-conference honors in basketball as a senior … inducted into the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Hall of Fame in February of 2015 and was inducted into the Howard University Hall of Fame in 2016 … as a child, spent two years in Germany where his father, Larry, was stationed in the Army … met his wife, Samantha, when they were freshman athletes at Howard University … completed his degree in Administration of Justice in May of 2011.
