In its 21st year, the Cardinals "Player-of-the-Week" award, is selected by a local sports panel consisting of former NBC-12 sports anchor Bruce Cooper, NBC-12 sports anchor Cameron Cox, NBC-12 sports commentator Lina Washington, Circle K brand manager Mitchell Miranda, color commentator AIA Game-of-the-Week Kelly Epley, and Arizona Republic/azcentral writer Richard Obert.
The Cardinals weekly "Player-of-the-Week" program presented by presents a selected high school player with a certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell and Cardinals Owner Michael Bidwill. Cardinals Cheerleaders, Cardinals team mascot Big Red and Cardinals alumni will take part in the presentation each week of the winning school."
