The Arizona Cardinals Football Club announced that the "Cardinals Girls High School Flag Football Game of the Week presented by State Farm®" will return to Arizona's Family Sports (AZFS) for the third consecutive year in 2026.

Arizona's Family Sports will air eight games during the 2026 season starting Sept. 15 when Highland (Gilbert) High School visits Campo Verde (Gilbert) High School at 6 p.m.

The remaining slate of games will take place on weeknights at 6 p.m. through Nov. 3. Games will also re-air on Arizona's Family Sports on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the season. Each match-up will be a fully-produced, 90-minute game broadcast, complete with play-by-play, analysis and sideline reporting and will air live on Arizona's Family Sports (AZFS) and stream live in the new Arizona's Family Sports app

The initiative, which debuted in 2024, made the Cardinals the first NFL team to produce and broadcast a weekly girls high school flag football game. Entering its third season, the Cardinals remain the only NFL team with a weekly girls high school flag football broadcast, continuing the organization's commitment to growing the game and creating greater visibility and opportunities for female athletes.

Twenty-two players who participated in the Arizona Cardinals Local All-Stars Media Day on Aug. 1 will make an appearance this season. Featured players and coaches on this year's slate include last year's Avnet Girls Coach of the Year Matt Stone (Hamilton HS), Avnet Girls Offensive Player of the Year Marlie Phillips (Liberty HS), and Kurt Warner Excellence in Leadership and Character Award winner Mariah Ruelas (Corona del Sol HS).

Players representing 20 Arizona high schools were selected by area coaches and Cardinals representatives to be a part of this unique opportunity. Each team will be led by head coaches from some of the top girls flag football programs in the state: Barrie Pedersen of Salpointe Catholic (Tucson) H.S., Brian Coger of Campo Verde (Gilbert) H.S., Scott Fisher of Scottsdale Christian Academy, and Kenny Golladay of Highland (Mesa) H.S.

Earlier this month, the all-stars were invited to the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center for a special content shoot, social media training and practice. They participated in an NFL-style content shoot where professional photographers captured content of them in their brand-new, custom Cardinals jerseys and finished with practice in the team's indoor bubble.

CARDINALS & GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL: The Cardinals support of girls flag football is well-established. The team impacts thousands of high school and youth girls flag football players across the state of Arizona annually through a variety of camps, showcases, tournaments and equipment donations. The team has expanded their initiative to the collegiate-environment, supporting women competing at the highest level currently offered. The Cardinals became the first NFL team to have a flag football campus at an NFL stadium and established a partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance in 2024, pledging $70,000 to help support girls flag football in the state of Arizona and eliminate gender inequity in youth sports. The team has also held girls flag football games at State Farm Stadium during halftime of Cardinals games each of the past four seasons. In July, the Cardinals had four girls flag teams, including the high school girls team, SoCal Reign, representing the organization at the NFL FLAG Championships in Indianapolis, IN.

GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL IN ARIZONA: Arizona is one of 24 states to offer girls high school flag football as a sanctioned sport. In 2023, 57 Arizona High Schools offered sanctioned girls flag football. That number has more than doubled to nearly 140 high schools across the state offering the sport for the 2026 season.

ENORMOUS GROWTH OF FLAG FOOTBALL: Flag football is the most accessible and inclusive version of American football and is leading to exceptional worldwide participation growth of the sport, especially among women and girls. An estimated 20 million people in more than 100 countries currently participate in flag football. Flag football will be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, marking the first time in history that the game of football in any form will be a part of the Olympic Games. Three collegiate programs (Arizona Christian, Benedictine Mesa and Ottawa University) in Arizona added sanctioned girls flag football programs for the 2026 spring season and joined the GSAC conference.
