Chandler Jones' brother, the famous MMA fighter Jon "Bones" Jones, will make his return to the octagon on Dec. 29 following a lengthy suspension.
Jon has been training in the meantime, and for some of his sessions during the NFL offseason, Chandler joined in. The schedule included three-a-day workouts in Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu and boxing.
"It was like a training camp in itself," said the Cardinals' Pro Bowl defensive end.
While the siblings compete in different sports, Chandler said the experience sharpened certain aspects of his game.
"When you're playing the sport of football, whoever has the fastest hands wins," Jones said. "A lot of times we do boxing training, which helps with hand speed, for sure."
It's hard to argue with Jones' results. He has four sacks in five games this season after leading the NFL with 17 a year ago. He is coming off an NFC Defensive Player of the Week nod and believes he would be the Cardinals' hand speed champion if there were ever a competition.
"Definitely (the fastest hands) in this locker room," Jones said.
