Judging The Cardinals' Offseason

League executives impressed by personnel moves

The personnel merry-go-round of the NFL offseason has slowed to a trickle, as teams are mostly content to evaluate the talent currently on the roster. The Cardinals could still add pieces in the weeks leading up to training camp, but for the most part the premium talent is set.

The team had a ton of movement from the end of the 2017 season until now, kicked off by the retirements of coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer. It's definitely a new era of Cardinals football, and while Steve Keim's free agency excursion was met with some skepticism, the overall body of work has been greeted more favorably.

Mike Sando of ESPN.com spoke with more than a dozen NFL decision-makers to come up with grades for each team and gave the Cardinals a "B+" for their roster reconstruction over the past several months. The proof won't come until the fall, but here is a look at some of the most notable moves in an offseason of change.

Key additions: Coach Steve Wilks, QB Sam Bradford, QB Josh Rosen, G Justin Pugh, WR Christian Kirk, T Andre Smith, CB Jamar Taylor, G/C Mason Cole, DE Benson Mayowa, QB Mike Glennon, CB Bené Benwikere, RB Chase Edmonds, WR Brice Butler.

Key departures: Coach Bruce Arians, QB Carson Palmer, S Tyrann Mathieu, WR John Brown, T Jared Veldheer, S Tyvon Branch, LB Kareem Martin, CB Tramon Williams, DL Josh Mauro, RB Adrian Peterson, LB Karlos Dansby, WR Jaron Brown, DL Xavier Williams, RB Kerwynn Williams.
