Kyle Sammons is in his fourth season with the Cardinals and first as the head strength and conditioning coach after being promoted in February of 2026. He originally joined the team in 2023 as sports science coordinator/assistant strength and conditioning and spent the past three years (2023-25) in that role.
Prior to joining the Cardinals, Sammons worked at the collegiate level including stops at the University of Washington (2015-21) and his alma mater, the University of Nevada (2011-14). While at Washington, Sammons was the director of sports science/reconditioning (2018-21) after starting as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the football team (2015-17). He went to Washington after starting his career at Nevada as a graduate assistant in 2011 followed by three seasons (2012-14) as an assistant strength and conditioning coach where he assisted with football, men's basketball, women's soccer and track & field.
Sammons played wide receiver at Nevada (2005-07) and finished his Wolf Pack career with 64 receptions for 1,043 yards and six TDs in 24 games. As a senior in 2007, he had 37 receptions for 668 yards and four TDs. Sammons transferred to Nevada after playing two seasons (2003-04) at Santa Rosa CC where he caught 85 passes for 1,263 yards and 18 TDs.
A Novato, CA native, Sammons came to the Cardinals after working as the vice president of performance at STRIVE in 2022. He graduated from Nevada with a bachelor's degree in Finance in 2009 and earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2014.
Sammons is certified by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He and his wife, Andrea, have a son, Grayson.
