Chase Edmonds still isn't getting a ton of playing time each week, but he continues to make the most of his opportunities.
The Cardinals' second-year running back was fantastic in 20 snaps in Sunday's win over the Falcons, carrying the ball five times for 34 yards and adding two catches for 33 yards and a touchdown. Edmonds also blocked well, and Pro Football Focus noted his impressive day with an 87.3 overall grade.
Edmonds had the highest grade on the Cardinals and it was the sixth-best among all offensive players in the NFL in Week 6 (pending Monday Night Football.) Edmonds is now averaging a robust 6.7 yards per carry, giving the Cardinals one of the best backfield duos in the NFL.
Other Pro Football Focus observations from Week 6:
- Tight end Maxx Williams continued his impressive season, garnering an 83.2 overall grade by contributing in the receiving game and as a blocker. Williams has the top grade on the Cardinals this season at 83.4.
- David Johnson earned an overall grade of 80.7, including an elite 91.5 receiving grade. It harkened back memories of 2016, when PFF gave Johnson the award for best receiver in the league that year despite being a running back.
- Kyler Murray was given a solid 74.9 grade, which is the second straight impressively-graded week for the rookie quarterback. Murray has a season mark of 72.7, which is 16th in the NFL. (ESPN's total QBR has been even more impressed, giving Murray a 56.2 mark in their grading system, which is 12th-best in the NFL between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers).
- Nose tackle Corey Peters stood out to PFF defensively, earning a 78.9 overall grade for his run-stopping and pass-rushing performances.
- The players who shouldered the most blame from PFF for the Falcons' offensive explosion were linebacker Haason Reddick, linebacker Jordan Hicks and cornerback Byron Murphy. They all received coverage grades below 40 against Matt Ryan.
