ARLINGTON, Texas -- The quarterback situation has been the top storyline around the Cardinals ever since Kyler Murray suffered his foot injury in Week 5. But despite the hope Murray would be able to return after the bye, the result on game day of Week 9 has turned out the same as it has been the previous two games -- Murray is inactive for the game.
Coach Jonathan Gannon had already declared Jacoby Brissett as the starter against the Cowboys Monday night. Kedon Slovis will continue to be the backup with Murray sidelined.
Linebacker Cody Simon had been added to the injury report earlier Monday with an illness and listed as questionable, but he is active for the Cardinals. With Walter Nolen III now available on the defensive line, veteran Bilal Nichols will be a healthy scratch at the position.
Cornerback Will Johnson, who was dealing with a groin injury, is active.
The Cardinals' full inactive list:
- QB Kyler Murray (foot)
 - CB Elijah Jones
 - LB Xavier Thomas
 - OL Demontrey Jacobs
 - OL Josh Fryar
 - DL Bilal Nichols
