Reported addition of Clements gets Cardinals' offensive staff some help

There has been no official announcement, but multiple reports have former longtime Packers assistant Tom Clements joining the Cardinals' staff as a passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. This would ostensibly be the pick for the "offensive coordinator" spot that the Cards have been interviewing candidates for over the last few weeks, a guy to work with head coach/playcaller Kliff Kingsbury.

The Cards had reportedly interviewed Hue Jackson in the last couple of days, in addition to Clements and Jim Bob Cooter for this particular role. (They had also talked to Ben McAdoo and Steve Sarkisian over the last couple of weeks.)

What it means is that Kingsbury now has a former head coach as his defensive coordinator in Vance Joseph, and a former assistant head coach (and an NFL coach of 20 years experience) as his passing game coordinator/top offensive man. Clements served multiple roles, including assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and QBs coach with the Packers, where he mentored Josh Rosen's buddy, Aaron Rodgers.
