On Friday afternoon Miami Dolphins Owner Wayne Huizenga and his wife Marti had the opportunity to tour the new Cardinals Stadium with Vice President and General Counsel Michael Bidwill.

"I'm very, very, impressed," said Huizenga following his tour. "This is the most unique, the most 21st century stadium I've ever seen. There are so many twists and turns and bends that are innovative and creative that no other stadium has in the country. I think Michael (Bidwill) and his guys did just a fantastic job and it's a stadium that will be talked about for generations to come."

Recently the Miami Dolphins have been working on numerous upgrades to their home, Dolphin Stadium. After taking a tour Huizenga feels that there are some ideas he can take from the Cardinals stadium to help his current projects in Miami.

"There are many big wide areas on the club level where you can have parties and events in seven different locations around the club level with big bars in the middle," stated Huizenga. "That is very unique and there aren't any stadiums that have a situation like that and I think that will be very popular in this building."

Huizenga was extremely impressed and found it hard to pick out his favorite aspect of the new stadium.

"There isn't one thing, there's about 25 things," confirmed Huizenga. "The shape of the building, the style of the building, the lighting in the building, the roof on the building, the bird-air up on the roof, its just been really, really thoroughly thought out. I can congratulate Michael (Bidwill) and the Cardinals on doing a great job."

The new Cardinals Stadium will be open in time for the 2006 season. The world-class venue will not only feature a retractable roof but will also be the first in North America to feature a fully retractable grass playing surface.

In addition to hosting Cardinals games, the stadium will host the Fiesta Bowl annually as well as the BCS National Championship Game in January of 2007 and Super Bowl XLII in February of 2008. The stadium will have a seating capacity of 63,000 fans with the ability to expand to 73,000 for marquee events.
