On the heels of former Cardinals center A.Q. Shipley being named the team's new radio analyst, the team is also bringing in a new voice to be the color commentator during their three preseason TV broadcasts.
Sam Acho, who played four seasons for the Cardinals under Ken Whisenhunt and Bruce Arians after being drafted in 2011, will join Dave Pasch for the games against the Chiefs and Broncos, and then Paul Calvisi for the third week against the Raiders (with Pasch on assignment).
Shipley will be on the radio, working with Calvisi the first two games and then Craig Grialou for the finale. Dani Sureck will again do TV sideline reporting.
The games can be heard on Arizona Sports 98.7 and seen on Arizona's Family Ch. 5. The two home games against the Chiefs and Raiders will also be simulcast on the NFL Network outside of Arizona.
Only one player -- Simeon Rice -- has ever had more sacks as a Cardinals rookie than Acho's seven in 2011. Now Acho -- always one of the most intelligent guys in the locker room -- has transformed into a football analyst for ESPN talking about both college and NFL.
