NAME: MICHAEL WILSON
Let's hit the Cold Tub Time Machine to the final minutes of Week 4 vs Seattle -- remember when Michael Wilson instantly stabbed that one-handed grab on fourth-and-1? Two words -- ping pong. "For whatever reason, I swear by it," Wilson explained recently on the Big Red Rage. Hold up. Wilson genuinely believes that the "cross-training," if you will, of playing weekly ping-pong games with teammates Simi Fehoko and Andre Baccellia has ramped up his hand-eye coordination? Yep. "Playing ping-pong helps you catch the football because the ball is moving so fast, when you go out and catch a real football, it feels like the ball is moving slow in the air." So, when he snags a pass with lightning quick reflexes? "I'm thinking ping-pong," Wilson said. "As soon as I come off on the sideline ... 'That's ping-pong right there.'"

NUMBER: 85
Tight end Trey McBride has been a focal point all season, in fact, he's the first tight end in NFL history to record at least five catches in the first nine games of the season. Despite being double-teamed at the third highest rate, he's getting the job done having scored five times in the last four games. Targeting McBride will be more important than ever this week given the rash of injuries in the wide receivers room and while San Francisco will game plan for No. 85, it can't be a reason not to get the ball to this team's leading receiver. McBride has shown he can bring the ball in and get dirty yards even with defenders in his face. Against a banged up 49ers defense, including the absence of one of the best linebackers in Fred Warner, this is a matchup in favor of the Cardinals of which they must take advantage.

NUANCE: DIVISION GAMES STILL MATTER
"It just means more" is the slogan most commonly used in the SEC. That message applies to division matchups in the NFC West. The Cardinals will be the first to acknowledge that they haven't played well enough against their rivals, but there's a fire within the locker room to add a division win to the column. Trey McBride described it as "bad blood" after the 49ers' walkoff field goal in Week 3. The Cardinals, he said, "want to get our lick back."
Against the Rams last weekend, the 49ers had a blitz rate of 54 percent. It's something that center Hjalte Froholdt is aware of as they prepare for a heated battle in the trenches. "There's always a little bit more juice, especially when you play the Niners with the way their front plays, we always have to be a little extra," he said. "It's always going to be a fight, but always when it's in our division, there's always a little bit more. Every game matters, but there's a little uptick in intensity for sure."
