- Became an NFL head coach when he was hired by the Cardinals on February 2, 2026. LaFleur came to the Cardinals after spending the past three seasons (2023-25) as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.
- LaFleur joined the Cardinals having 12 years of NFL coaching experience with the Rams (2023-25), Jets (2021-22), 49ers (2017-20), Falcons (2015-16) and Browns (2014). Five of those seasons came as an offensive coordinator with the Jets (2021-22) and Rams (2023-25).

- Last season, QB Matthew Stafford led the NFL in passing yards (4,707) and passing TDs (46) while establishing career-highs in TD passes and passer rating (109.2) on his way to being named NFL MVP. WR Puka Nacua led the NFL in receptions (129) and ranked 2nd in receiving yards (1,715) while WR Davante Adams led the NFL in TD receptions (14) despite playing in just 14 games. RB Kyren Williams ran for 1,252 yards and fellow RB Blake Corum added 746 rushing yards. Their 1,998 rushing yards are the fourth-most by a Rams RB duo in franchise history.

- Both his mother, Kristi (track & cheer coach) and wife, Lauren (track athlete) are members of the Mount Pleasant High School Hall of Fame. His father, Denny, won a National Championship as a player at Central Michigan in 1974 and went on to become an assistant coach at the program for 20 years.
Mike LaFleur was named Arizona's head coach on February 2, 2026. The 39-year old LaFleur joined the Cardinals after spending the past three seasons (2023-25) as the offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Rams. A Mount Pleasant, MI native, LaFleur has 12 years of experience in the NFL with the Rams (2023-25), Jets (2021-22), 49ers (2017-20), Falcons (2015-16) and Browns (2014).
LOS ANGELES: LaFleur spent the past three seasons (2023-25) as the offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Rams, the most recent of which saw the franchise earn a spot in the NFC Championship Game. In his three seasons as Rams offensive coordinator, Los Angeles featured one of the NFL's top offenses, ranking 5th in passing yards per game (244.9), first downs per game (21.4) and offensive TDs (144), 6th in total yards per game (361.8) and offensive points per game (24.4).
Under LaFleur, three different Rams offensive players combined for four All-Pro selections: WR Puka Nacua twice (2023 & '25), QB Matthew Stafford once (2025) and RB Kyren Williams once (2023). The Rams offense also combined for five Pro Bowl selections over the past three seasons: Nacua twice (2023 & '25), Stafford twice (2023 & '25) and Williams once (2023).
Stafford excelled under LaFleur the past three seasons, ranking 2nd in passing yards (12,434), 3rd in passing TDs (90) and 4th in completions (1,054) during that span. He threw for 3,500+ yards and 20+ TDs in all three seasons. After leading the league in passing yards (4,707) and touchdown passes (46) for the first time in his career in 2025, Stafford earned NFL MVP honors for the first time. At 37 years old, Stafford became the oldest player in NFL history to win his first-ever MVP award and became the first Rams player to win the honor since RB Marshall Faulk in 2000.
In 2025, the Rams led the NFL in total offense (394.6 ypg) and passing offense (268.1 ypg) while also ranking 7th in rushing offense (7). Los Angeles also led the league in points scored (518), total TDs (65) and passing TDs (46). The Rams had a league-leading 396 first downs, with an NFL-high 236 coming in the passing game. L.A. also finished the 2025 campaign tied for the league lead in fewest sacks allowed (23) while also committing the fewest penalties in the NFL (75).
Under LaFleur's guidance in 2024, the Rams finished 10th in passing yards per game (227.5) and 15th in offensive yards per game (331.4). During his first season in Los Angeles in 2023, the Rams finished the season 7th in yards per game (359.3) and yards per play (5.6), 11th in rushing yards per game (120.3), 10th in passing yards per game (239.0), and 8th in first downs per game (20.6), third down conversion rate (42%), and points scored per game (23.7). WR Puka Nacua finished the regular season establishing then NFL single-season records for receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie. RB Kyren Williams earned second-team All-Pro honors that season after rushing for 1,144 yards and 12 TDs on just 228 carries (5.0 avg.).
OTHER NFL EXPERIENCE: Prior to working with the Rams, he served as the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets for two seasons (2021-22). In 2022, WR Garrett Wilson became the first rookie in Jets history and one of 23 players in NFL history to finish his debut season with 1,000+ receiving yards. Under the guidance of LaFleur, the Jets offense posted a league-best 41 explosive plays by rookies. Despite numerous injuries at the quarterback position, New York finished the 2022 season ranked 15th in passing yards per game (219.0) and 14th in receiving yards (4,040), yards per reception (11.3) and yards after the catch (1,850).
In his first season as offensive coordinator in 2021, LaFleur worked with four different quarterbacks that threw for more than 290 yards in a game, becoming the first team in NFL history to accomplish that feat. LaFleur oversaw one of the NFL's youngest offenses that year as the Jets became just the second team since 1970 with a rookie leader in passing, rushing and receiving yards. LaFleur's offense also featured a rookie wide receiver, Elijah Moore, that finished in the top 10 among rookies in receiving yards in 2021. It marked the fourth consecutive season a rookie in LaFleur's offense finished the year atop the league's rookie rankings in receiving yards.
Before joining the Jets, LaFleur coached four seasons (2017-20) with the 49ers where he spent the final three years as San Francisco's passing game coordinator after working with wide receivers in 2017. In those three years as the passing game coordinator, the 49ers offense finished 10th in scoring (24.9 ppg) and 9th in total offense (370.6 ypg) as TE George Kittle set a then NFL record for tight ends with 1,377 receiving yards in 2019 and became a two-time All-Pro selection (2018-19).
In 2019, LaFleur assisted the 49ers in reaching Super Bowl LIV working with an offense that featured 13 different players with at least one TD catch that season, tied for the most in a single-season in NFL history. QB Jimmy Garoppolo ranked 5th in yards per attempt (7.6), 6th in completion percentage (67.5%), and 10th in passer rating (98.6) during LaFleur's three seasons (2018-20) coordinating the 49ers passing game.
Prior to his time in SF, LaFleur worked with the Falcons as an offensive assistant, first helping with the tight ends in 2015 and then with wide receivers in 2016. He began his NFL coaching career as an offensive intern with the Browns in 2014, assisting Cleveland's offensive line. During his time with Atlanta's wide receivers in 2016, WR Julio Jones finished second in the league in receiving yards (1,409) and averaged 17.0 yards per catch, the fourth-best average in the league. Falcons wide receivers had 3,226 receiving yards, the second-most in the NFL that season, which helped Atlanta advance to Super Bowl LI.
COLLEGE COACHING CAREER: Prior to joining the NFL coaching ranks, LaFleur spent five seasons coaching at the collegiate level, beginning his career at his alma mater, Elmhurst College, in 2009. He also served as an offensive coordinator at Saint Joseph's College (2010-12) and at Davidson College (2013).
ELMHURST COLLEGE: LaFleur played collegiately as a safety at Elmhurst, beginning his college career as a quarterback before switching positions in his final year. He was the starting quarterback for the Bluejays as a sophomore in 2006 and served as a team captain while playing safety as a senior in 2008. Following his playing career, LaFleur joined the coaching staff at Elmhurst in 2009, serving as an offensive assistant working with the quarterbacks.
PERSONAL: LaFleur attended Mount Pleasant (MI) High School where he was a two-sport athlete who played quarterback and ran track for the Oilers. His father, Denny, won a National Championship as a player at Central Michigan in 1974 and left as the program's all-time leader in career tackles. His dad then went on to become an assistant coach at Central Michigan. LaFleur's mother, Kristi, was a cheerleader at Central Michigan and serves as a track and competitive cheer coach at Mount Pleasant High School, where she is a member of the school's Hall of Fame.
He and his wife, Lauren, have two children – daughter, Addison and son, Wes. A former track and field standout at Mount Pleasant High School, Lauren is also a member of the school's Hall of Fame. Â
