Cardinals fly.
But on Feb. 21, 2026, Cardinals will also climb.
State Farm Stadium will transform from a football stadium to a trail-inspired adventure as the Arizona Cardinals Foundation hosts the first-ever Cardinals Climb. There will be different routes inside the stadium that fans, families, and teams can hike for a cause.
The event is a community fundraiser which will raise funds for organizations that assist those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs).
"As someone with a family member that has disabilities, this cause is important to me," owner Michael Bidwill said. "This event gives us a way to shine a spotlight on the challenges, while also making a real and immediate difference."
The proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Barrow Neurological Foundation, SARRC (Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center), Special Olympics Arizona, and Treasure House. Events like Cardinals Climb will help towards impacting the special needs community.
"The Cardinals have always been about more than just football," Bidwill said. "Supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is close to our hearts. Not just as an organization, but for so many of our players, staff, and fans."
Registration for the climb can be found at www.cardinalsclimb.com. Once registered, participants will have access to a personalized fundraising portal, providing an easy way to share their story and raise support.
There are many ways to be involved beyond the hike. People can become Climb Leaders and help create teams, recruit, and fundraise together. If individuals are unable to attend the event, there is an off-site participation option that will allow members of the Bird Gang to join the effort, regardless of location.
Cardinals Climb is an experience for all ages and abilities. The aforementioned routes will range from accessible paths to more challenging climbs.
It's one step at a time, but the event is the start of a movement as we climb together.
"Every person who takes part in this event brings us closer to our goal and strengthens the impact we can make together," Bidwill said.
