Marvin Harrison Jr.'s Return And Working Through 2 More Games

Wide receiver won't be 100 percent healthy but should go in Cincinnati

Marvin Harrison Jr. was "OK" on Sunday, coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday, after the wide receiver played with the heel injury that had kept him out of the previous two games. The Cardinals had a "plan" for his reps, Gannon added, and Harrison is going to go the final two games.

"He'll be ready for more," Gannon said. "I know he wants to play more."

What that exactly looks like is TBD. Harrison, who said Friday he'd have to play through the injury until the offseason, had one catch for 14 yards on three targets against the Falcons, playing 29 of 57 snaps.

The catch didn't come until the fourth quarter, and there was a target into the end zone that Harrison looked like he could've grabbed -- a 26-yard TD pass -- but couldn't corral. Asked about the missed opportunity, Gannon said "he can go up and make that play."

The Cardinals are still trying to get to a place where Harrison, fellow wide receiver Michael Wilson and tight end Trey McBride all thrive when playing together. Having Harrison out there for two more games, despite the heel issue, will give the opportunity for more cohesion.

"He wants to play and he wants to go out and help us win," Gannon said. "He wants to go play football. Again, we always do what is best for the player. If we thought we were were endangering him, we wouldn't put him out there."
