Darius Robinson sat in the stands, watching and supporting some of his Cardinals teammates in Mack Wilson Sr.'s charity basketball game. He was never going to even think about playing, not after the calf injury that derailed his rookie season.
But that's OK. Robinson is preferring to stay out of the spotlight this offseason. All he wants to do is make sure he is healthy for the season and ready to be the potential defensive line disruptor the Cardinals hope he can develop into.
His play will ultimately determine such things, but Robinson certainly looks the part.
Since the offseason program began, perhaps no player's physique has been noticed more than Robinson. (Maybe Marvin Harrison Jr., who also has added muscle, which shouldn't be a surprise after Robinson said the two have lived at the facility since season's end.)
What's interesting is that the 6-foot-5 Robinson said his weight remains around the 285 pounds he played at last season. It's now just lean muscle. Linemen can only do so much in the offseason, but he unmistakably looks like a wrecking ball. The defensive line has undergone an overhaul in the offseason. But adding in a streamlined and motivated former first-round pick in Robinson might make the biggest impact of all.
