Yuma Cibola RB Jordan Mitchell Named High School Player-of-the-Week

Yuma Cibola running back Jordan Mitchell has been named this week's Arizona Cardinals and Wells Fargo "High School Player-of-the-Week."

Mitchell rushed for 325 yards and three touchdowns in the 20-14 upset win against previously unbeaten and third-ranked (5A-1) Basha High School last week.

The eighth-year Arizona Cardinals Football Club "Player-of-the-Week" award, presented by Wells Fargo, is selected by a local sports panel consisting of Cardinals Director of Community Relations Luis Zendejas, Community Relations Coordinator Sheldon Meeks, NBC-12 sports reporter Bruce Cooper, 16-year Arizona high school football official Bob Ferreira, AIA Director of Media Marketing Brian Bolitho, Channel 3 sports anchor Brad Cesmat, 1060 AM radio host Dan Manucci, and Wells Fargo representative Jeff Smith.

A football plaque acknowledging the award will be presented to Mitchell by a Cardinals alumnus at a ceremony at Cibola High School (4100 W. 20th Street, Yuma) on Thursday, October 7 at 7:30 a.m. The undefeated Raiders travel to Kofa High School on Friday night.
