DeAndre Hopkins Named To Forbes 30 Under 30 List

Wide receivers business acumen noted

It's not hard to see DeAndre Hopkins has many facets, well beyond his incredible talent on the football field. That's the reason he ended up on this year's Forbes 30 under 30 for sports list, which picks up-and-comers across the sports universe that are not yet 30 years old.

Hopkins just negotiated his own contract extension and has already said he wouldn't mind becoming a pro sports general manager at some point down the road.

He also, as noted in his Forbes capsule, has endorsements or investments in a handful of companies. He's also into real estate, buying a the house he grew up in as soon as he got into the NFL.

"My mom's mortgage was terrible, part of the system that doesn't serve certain people," Hopkins said. "She had like a 500-year mortgage. It was unrealistic, so I paid that off once I got to the NFL and started renting out that house to college students. That sparked my interest."

Hopkins, who is into fashion as well, also recently took advantage of his memorable quote after his Hail Murray catch, the one where he said "They were in position. It was just a better catch by I." On Hopkins' Instagram account, he posted a picture of a hoodie with a close up shot of his hands grabbing the TD, with the words, "It Was Just A Better Catch By I."

If it wasn't already used elsewhere, you'd think Nuk the businessman would've jumped on "I-Hop" by now.

"I almost got kicked out of middle school for selling candy. True story," Hopkins said. "I always had the entrepenuriship in me."
