Saguaro High School quarterback Teddy Ruben has been named this week's Arizona Cardinals and Wells Fargo "High School Player-of-the-Week."
Ruben rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns while also passing for 150 yards and two TD's in the 55-21 win against Cactus Shadows High School last week.
The eighth-year Arizona Cardinals Football Club "Player-of-the-Week" award, presented by Wells Fargo, is selected by a local sports panel consisting of Cardinals Director of Community Relations Luis Zendejas, Community Relations Coordinator Sheldon Meeks, NBC-12 sports reporter Bruce Cooper, 16-year Arizona high school football official Bob Ferreira, AIA Director of Media Marketing Brian Bolitho, Channel 3 sports anchor Brad Cesmat, 1060 AM radio host Dan Manucci, and Wells Fargo representative Jeff Smith.
A football plaque acknowledging the award will be presented to Ruben by a Cardinals alumnus at a homecoming ceremony at Saguaro High School (6250 N. 82nd Street, Scottsdale) on Friday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. The Sabercats host McClintock High School on Friday night.
