Week 11 Rewind: Fighting For Each Other
Looking back at the Cardinals' game against the Seattle Seahawks
By Zach Galia Nov 24, 2021

Seattle is always a special place to play. I'm not sure if it's the crisp Washington air, the perpetual chance of rain, or the witty Seahawks fan at the end of the player's tunnel that is always there to offer a humorous quip, but the Cardinals have enjoyed success in the Emerald City. Winners of two of the last three games there, the Cards walked into Lumen Field determined to get a win despite a third straight game without Kyler Murray or DeAndre Hopkins.

"Hey, man… I can still play," Colt McCoy so eloquently stated during his free agent visit to Arizona this offseason, and he has continued to prove it in Kyler Murray's absence. McCoy went off for 328 yards, two touchdowns and plenty of moments that had to make the Red Sea smile. After the win on Sunday, McCoy is now the only NFL QB – including Seahawk QBs – to win a start at Seattle each of the last two regular seasons (2020-21). He led the Giants to a 17-12 win at Lumen Field last December before leading the Cards to victory on Sunday.

"When your number is called, that's my role," said McCoy.

Zach Ertz has been one of the most talked-about players since arriving in the Valley, and he put together his most impressive campaign in Red and White on Sunday. Ertz finished the day with 8 catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns. He also was responsible for one of the best photos of the season, which I'm sure you're seeing right about now.

"I think it's a combination of a lot of hard work. From guys helping me out, from just trying to get in the playbook as much as possible to the coaching staff trusting me," said Ertz. "This isn't about me; this is a team win."

That has been the mantra of this team since day one. This journey has never been about one player, one week or one opponent. Everyone is focused on the bigger picture, and being better today than they were yesterday. As Kelvin Beachum said, "This locker room is special. When you love one another, you're gonna find a way to fight for one another."

Fight they did, and fight they will continue to do.

"We've just got to keep getting better," said Kliff Kingsbury.

1-0 every day.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
