Kyler Murray did not log a full practice with his teammates on Tuesday, but the Cardinals' star quarterback does not seem particularly concerned with his shoulder injury.

Murray called the decision to limit his passes a "precautionary" move after he was hurt on a sack early in Thursday night's loss to the Seahawks. Murray was shown grimacing at times on the sideline as he threw warm-up tosses but did not miss a snap.

The Cardinals play the Patriots on Sunday in New England.

"I feel good," Murray said. "Obviously got nicked up a little bit the past couple weeks, but I feel good. I feel fine."

Coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Monday that the Cardinals were going to see if Murray could "cut it loose" at practice or if adjustments would be needed, and the latter was true, as Murray was off to the side during the portion of Tuesday's session open to reporters.

"I'm trying to limit those throws, but at the same time, making sure I'm ready," Murray said.

Kingsbury said he was proud of the way Murray fought through the injury against Seattle. The second-year quarterback finished the game 29-of-42 for 269 yards and two touchdowns.

This week could be an adjustment for Murray, who has a penchant for throwing the ball a lot, whether it be at practice or on game day.

"I like warming up before I go out there and touch the field, even if it's midgame sideline throws," Murray said. "I usually throw before we go out there, just because I've got to be ready to make those throws when it's live."

JALEN THOMPSON COULD MISS 'A WEEK OR TWO' WITH ANKLE INJURY

Jalen Thompson aggravated his ankle injury against the Seahawks, and while the exact severity is not yet known, the second-year could safety could miss could miss "a week or two" of action, Cardinals' defensive coordinator Vance Joseph said.

Chris Banjo replaced Thompson in Seattle, and could see see full-time duty with the other main option, Deionte Thompson, going on the COVID-19 reserve list. Jalen Thompson has only played two full games this season after a promising rookie campaign.

"We have guys ready to step in, but I feel bad for Jalen," Joseph said. "He was playing good football. He was just back for two weeks and he was getting better and better each snap. To lose him again, that's hard for us, obviously, but harder for Jalen."

ZACH ALLEN RETURNS TO PRACTICE

The Cardinals designated Zach Allen to return from injured reserve, which allows him to practice and opens a 21-day window to activate him to the roster.

Allen injured his ankle in the home matchup against the Seahawks in Week 7 and has missed the past three games. He has 11 tackles, a sack and four quarterback hits this season.

The Cardinals are thin on the defensive line, as Corey Peters, Jordan Phillips, Rashard Lawrence and Leki Fotu are currently on injured reserve. Veteran Domata Peko was signed Monday to bolster the group.

Defensive lineman Josh Mauro was not present at the open portion of practice on Tuesday, nor were safety Charles Washington (groin), tight end Darrell Daniels (ankle) and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. The first injury report of the week will be released on Wednesday.

FIVE ADDED TO PRACTICE SQUAD

The Cardinals re-signed tight end Evan Baylis and linebacker Reggie Walker to the practice squad after releasing them from the active roster on Saturday.

They also signed defensive linemen P.J. Johnson, Daylon Mack and Stacy McGee to the practice squad, which illustrates the need for bodies at the position.

Linebacker Stephone Anthony and offensive lineman Rick Leonard were released from the practice squad to make room.
