Daughtry To Perform At Opener

Daughtry lead singer Chris Daughtry sang the national anthem at University of Phoenix Stadium in 2006.

Fans at the regular-season home opener at University of Phoenix Stadium will not only see the Miami Dolphins but the band Daughtry as well.

The Grammy-nominated group, led by lead singer Chris Daughtry, will perform a pre-game set as well as the national anthem before the Sept. 14 game. Chris Daughtry, the one-time American Idol contestant, sang the national anthem at University of Phoenix Stadium before a game in 2006.

Daughtry the band made music history when they became the first group to have three No. 1 songs from its debut album. "It's Not Over," "Home" and "Feels Like Tonight" all reached the top spot on the Billboard charts.

Single-game tickets for the Dolphins game and the rest of the Cards' home schedule – except for the Cowboys' game, which remains part of the team's “Protect The Nest” ticket package – go on sale this weekend.

Season-ticket holders get first crack at the tickets Friday, July 25, while the general public can buy tickets beginning Saturday. All purchases before Monday must be through Ticketmaster, either at participating locations or ticketmaster.com. Fans are limited to eight tickets per transaction.

Tickets will not be available from the Cardinals, either at University of Phoenix Stadium or the team's Tempe facility, until Monday, July 28.
