Paris Johnson Jr. Looking Mobile And Agile As Offseason Work Approaches

Tackle's knee healthy in video about workouts

When last we left Paris Johnson Jr. he was on Injured Reserve with a knee injury.

(OK, technically when we last left PJJ, he was speaking the day after the season as one of the team leaders and not nearly as limpy has he had been earlier.)

Nevertheless ...

Whatever was ailing Johnson at the end of the season -- when he missed the final four games -- looks long past, judging by a video posted by former NFL offensive lineman and current OL trainer LeCharles Bentley. The box jumps and pass sets sure don't give any pause when it comes to Johnson's knee health.

Johnson's health is crucial. (Yes, that is a given). As the Cardinals reset the offensive line, Johnson's continued evolution upward is an important part of the improvements. New signee Isaac Seumalo will slot next to PJJ at left guard, Hjalte Froholdt will be the center. What happens at right guard and right tackle is still a work-in-progress. There are multiple current options at both; it would make sense that Elijah Wilkinson would have an opportunity at right tackle in the current circumstances.

The draft seems inevitable to produce another tackle possibility, whether it is the first round or later. That will be an interesting watch, since the Cardinals recently went offensive line high in the first round -- which is how Johnson ended up in Arizona in the first place.

The Arizona Cardinals clean out the locker room after the final game of the 2025 season on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 in Tempe, AZ.
