CINCINNATI -- For a second straight season, a late-year knee injury has landed Paris Johnson Jr. on Injured Reserve.
The Cardinals left tackle got hurt against the Rams in Week 14, and when walking around the locker room during open sessions was hobbled. He will end up missing the final four games of the season and ups the Cardinals' number of players currently on IR to 22, plus Sean Murphy-Bunting on NFI.
That doesn't include the players who have spent time on IR this season but were able to return, or the players who spent significant time on the PUP list well into the season such as Walter Nolen III (who ended up on IR later) and BJ Ojulari.
Replacing Johnson on the roster is defensive lineman Zachary Carter, who was promoted from the practice squad.
For a second straight week, the Cardinals are also elevating cornerback Jaden Davis and wide receiver Steven Sims from the practice squad.
The Cardinals play the Bengals on the road Sunday before closing out the 2025 season next week in Los Angeles against the Rams.
Johnson missed the final two games of 2024 with a knee injury. Rookie Josh Fryar has been starting in his place this season, although the Cardinals have also worked in Demontrey Jacobs for some series as well.
