The Cardinals had reached out to 10 potential coaching candidates as they go through the search process for potential interviews, but the biggest name of the hiring cycle has also reportedly been in touch.
Multiple reports had former Ravens coach John Harbaugh talking to the Cardinals, among others. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated said the call was to hear each team's initial pitch; Harbaugh has not yet decided all the teams with which he will interview. That said, the Falcons announced they had an official interview with him.
There are currently eight head coaching openings. The Packers and Matt LeFleur are also reportedly discussing a contract extension before he heads into the final year of his deal, but his future is not set in stone as of yet.
The other teams in contact with Harbaugh are the Giants, Titans, Raiders and Browns.
Also coming out on Monday was the news the Cowboys and Commanders are expected to interview former Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon for their vacant defensive coordinator positions, while the Titans are expected to talk to Gannon for their open head coaching job.
