The Cardinals will visit the Tennessee Titans on "Monday Night Football" on Aug. 23, the game that highlighted the Cards' preseason schedule that was released Wednesday. The two quarterbacks meet for the third time – albeit in a game that won't count -- after Young directed the Titans to a 99-yard drive to stun the Cards, 20-17, last season and after Young won their epic Rose Bowl battle when both were in college.

The Cardinals open the exhibition schedule at home against Houston sometime during the weekend of Aug. 12-16. After the trip to Tennessee, the Cards travel to Chicago the weekend of Aug. 26-29, and then close out the preseason with a rare matchup with the Washington Redskins at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sept. 2 or 3.

The Cardinals and Redskins haven't played in the preseason since 1971.

Specific dates and kickoff times for the games aside from Tennessee have yet to be determined. Kickoff for the Titans' game will be 5 p.m. Arizona time.

It's the third year in a row ESPN has tabbed the Cardinals for a primetime preseason game. The Cards hosted the New Orleans Saints to open the 2008 preseason on a special Thursday night telecast, and then the Cards and Steelers had a Super Bowl rematch of sorts on a Thursday night to open the 2009 preseason.

It's the first time since 2003 the Cardinals have not closed the preseason with a game against the Broncos, and only the sixth time the Cards have not faced either the Broncos or Raiders – both of whom are on the regular-season schedule – in the preseason since the franchise moved to Arizona. It should be noted, however, that the Cards' last game against the Redskins features new coach and former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.

The NFL's regular-season schedule is usually announced sometime in the first half of April, although no date has been announced.
