A new coach means an earlier start date.
With Mike LaFleur on board, the Cardinals will start their offseason program on April 7, about two weeks before most of the NFL. The Phase One voluntary work -- strength and conditioning, as well as meetings -- comes for a few weeks before Phase Two (on field, no helmets, offense and defense separate). Phase Three is OTAs (helmets on, offense and defense can practice together) beginning May 18.
With a new coach, there is also an extra minicamp, also voluntary, that will be the week of the draft on April 21-23. The only mandatory part will be the final minicamp June 8-10. A two-day rookie minicamp will be two weeks after the draft.
