Marvin Harrison Jr. Feels The Slime Of NVP

Wide receiver wins Nickelodeon award and ensuing 'shower'

Normally, Marvin Harrison Jr. speaks to the media on Wednesdays, coming off the field after his extra session with the JUGS machine and still covered in sweat and his practice gear as he fields questions.

Not on this particular Wednesday. Harrison had emerged from the shower this time around. But he had good reason. He had to wash off the slime.

Harrison was named the "Nickelodeon Valuable Player" for Week 2, after his four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. To celebrate the honor, Harrison allowed Paris Johnson Jr. to slime him for the cameras. It was quite the sight. But that was as far as it was gonna go -- Harrison wasn't about to meet the media cameras with leftover green stuff still showing.

"I was blessed to be the Nickelodeon player of the week, and that meant a lot to me," Harrison said. "It was really cool ... and I got slimed today. That was fun."

Interestingly, Kyler Murray was the first-ever winner of the NVP, taking home honors after Week 1 in 2021 when the Cardinals crushed the Titans and Kyler had four touchdown passes. Kyler did not end up on the business end of any slime.

Harrison said he kept both touchdown balls. He said he'll keep them on display at home.

No word if he saved any of the slime for his mantle.
