Dolphins vs. Cardinals

1st Quarter
Cardinals win coin toss, elect to defer to have the ball in the second half.
Neil Rackers' kickoff sails out of bounds inside the five-yard line. Penalty gives Miami first down at the 40-yard line. Chad Pennington connects on slant to Greg Camarillo for five yards, then Ricky Williams runs off right tackle for three. On third-and-two at the 48, Ronnie Brown starts right, reverses field, finally tackled by Adrian Wilson for loss of four yards. Brandon Fields' punt for 42 yards returned by Steve Breaston 16 yards to the 31.
Arizona first-and-10 at its 31, 12:49 on the stadium clock. Cards flagged for delay of game. Now first-and-15 at the 26. Edgerrin James run up the middle for three yards, but Cards called for illegal formation, so another five-yard penalty makes it first-and-20 from the 21. Cards in five-receiver set, Kurt Warner throws over the middle to Anquan Boldin, who catches the ball near midfield and races untouched to the end zone for 79-yard scoring play. Rackers' extra point is good, Cardinals take 7-0 lead with 12:20 to play in the opening quarter.
Rackers' kickoff taken two yards deep in end zone by Davone Bess, returns 28 yards to the 26-yard line. Dolphins first-and-10, 12:15 to play in the first quarter. Williams up the middle for two yards, tackle by Karlos Dansby. On second down Williams starts left, runs right and tackled by Aaron Francisco for loss of nine yards. Williams recovers his own fumble on the play. On third-and-17 from the 19, Pennington complete to Brown right side, gains 13 but short of the first down. Cards Eric Green injured on the play but walks off on his own. Now fourth-and-four at the 32, Field punts 45 yards, Breaston on the return but Cards called for illegal block.
Result is Cards first-and-10 at the nine-yard line, 9:57 left in the quarter. James runs left for two yards on first down, then Warner passes to Ben Patrick in right flat for eight. On third-and-one Tim Hightower runs left side for two yards and a first down at the 20. James runs up the middle for one yard, then Warner connects with Larry Fitzgerald down right sideline, who makes a leaping catch over cornerback Will Allen, and nearly scores but is tackled after gain of 75 yards to the four. Warner complete to Patrick for three yards to the one-yard line, and on second and goal Hightower loses one yard and fumbles, but Card Leonard Pope recovers at the three. On third-and-goal at the three, Boldin in motion, Warner passes to Boldin in right flat, who makes the catch at the one and dives over the pylon for the touchdown. Rackers kicks the extra point, Arizona increases lead to 14-0, 5:40 left in the opening period. Drive was 8 plays, 92 yards, 4:19 possession.
Rackers' kickoff fielded seven yards deep in the end zone for a touchback. Miami takes over first-and-10 at the 20, 5:40 to play in the first quarter. Brown carries right for two yards, then Pennington passes left to Brown, but Cards called for offsides, a five-yard penalty and replay of second down. Second-and-three at the 27, Williams takes a pitch left, gains eight yards to the 35 and a first down. Brown runs right for three yards, then Pennington passes laterally left to Bess, who runs up the sideline for 13 yards. Play called a rush. First-and-10 at the 49 now, Williams carries right but is tripped up by Ralph Brown for loss of one. Pennington drops back to pass, scrambles for five yards. Now third-and-5 at the 44, Pennington under pressure passes incomplete. Dolphins called for pass interference, but penalty is declined. Fields on to punt, Breaston fair catch at the 13-yard line after a 32-yard punt.
Cardinals take over first-and-10 at their own 13, 28 seconds left in the first quarter. Warner complete to screen left to Hightower, who cuts upfield for 20 yards to the 33 as first quarter ends.
End of first quarter, Cards 14, Dolphins 0

2nd Quarter
Cardinals first-and-10 at the 33 to start the second period. Hightower pitch around right side goes for loss of one, then Warner fires bullet to Fitzgerald on right side, who makes a one-handed catch behind himself for gain of nine yards. On third-and-1 at the 42, Warner passes to Patrick for 15 yards and a first down at the 44. James runs up the middle for two yards, the Breaston on the end-around going left goes for four to the 38. Third-and-4, Cards with five receivers, Warner complete to Fitzgerald on left side goes for 10 yards and a first down at the 28. Warner complete to Pope, but Cards called for ineligible player downfield. Five-yard penalty makes it first-and-15 at the 33, 10:30 left in the first half. Warner under pressure passes incomplete on first down, then James takes a delay up the middle for two yards. Third-and-13 at the 31, Hightower runs up middle for four yards. Rackers on for 45-yard field goal, kick is perfect and Arizona stretches lead to 17-0, 8:46 to play in the first period. Drive was 11 plays, 60 yards, 6:42 possession.
Rackers' kickoff taken five yards deep in end zone by Bess, returns to the 20-yard line. Pennington complete to Camarillo near right side line good for 18 yards and a first down at the 38. Williams takes a pitch left and gains eight yards to the 46, then runs up middle for five and another first down, now at the Arizona 49-yard line. Williams again on a pitch running right, pushed out of bounds after a gain of two. Now second-and-seven at the 46, Pennington quick toss left to David Martin for six yards. On third-and-one, Pennington passes deep but ball batted down by Ralph Brown. Pennington throws incomplete on second down, so on a third-and-10 at the 38, 5:24 left in the first half, Pennington's pass nearly intercepted by Chike Okeafor, forcing a punt. Fields' punt downed by Miami at the two-yard line.
Cards take over first-and-10 at their own two, 5:10 to play in the second quarter. James carries up the middle for three yards, then sweeps right but loses one yard. On third-and-8, Hightower takes an inside hand-off up the middle and runs for 13 yards and a first down at the 18. James runs wide left for one yard, then gets the ball again on second down and runs for 12 yards and a first down to the 31 at the two-minute warning. Warner passes complete to Breaston on quick slant right for 19 yards, clock ticking with 1:30 to play in the quarter. First-and-10 at the 49, Warner sacked for loss of seven as Cards take first timeout with 16 seconds left in the first half. Warner passes incomplete intended for Fitzgerald, and on third-and-18 from the 42, Warner passes complete to Fitzgerald for eight yards. Miami takes second timeout. Dirk Johnson's 40-yard punt downed by Card Calais Campbell at the two-yard line.
Miami first and 10 at its two, 50 seconds left in the first half. Williams runs for three up the middle, Cards take second timeout, 42 seconds on the clock. Second-and-7, Williams runs left for three, Cards take third and final timeout of the half, 38 seconds on the clock. On third-and-four at the eight-yard line, Brown runs left for four yards as the clock runs out on the first half.

3rd Quarter
Cards deferred to second half, so they'll receive the second-half kickoff. Dan Carpenter's kickoff taken by Breaston inside the five-yard line, returns up the middle then right for 27 yards. Cardinals first-and-10 at their own 29, James squirts up the middle for eight yards, then Warner finds Boldin in a seam over the middle for 27 yards to the 36. James barely gets back to the line of scrimmage on first down, then Boldin takes lateral pass left for seven yards to the 29. On third-and-seven Warner passes incomplete over the middle. Rackers on for a 46-yard field goal but sails it wide left. However, Miami called for 12 players on the field, result is Card first down at the 24, 12:09 to play in the quarter. James hits the middle of the line for six yards, then Warner passes for Fitzgerald in left corner of end zone, Miami called for pass interference. Since the penalty occurred in the end zone, Arizona has a first down at the one-yard line. Warner throws incomplete to Patrick on first down, then Hightower stopped for no gain. On third-and-goal at the one, Warner sacked but Miami called for facemask penalty. Penalty is half the distance to the goal, but Cards get a new set of downs on two-yard line. Hightower runs off left guard for the touchdown, and after Rackers adds the extra point, Arizona takes 24-0 lead with 10:29 left in the third quarter. Drive was 10 plays, 71 yards, 4:31 time of possession.
Rackers' kickoff taken by Bess at the goal line, returns to the 28-yard line. Pennington passes complete to Camarillo on square out for 12 yards and a first down. Pennington sacked by Bryan Robinson for loss of eight yards on first down, then throws complete to Martin for 18 yards and a first down at the midfield stripe. Pennington throws the ball away on first down, then connects with Martin over the middle for five. On third-and-five at the 45, 8:00 on the clock, Pennington has ample time to throw and finds Derek Hagan over the middle for 20 yards to the 25-yard line with just over seven minutes left in the third quarter. Brown carries left for 11 yards and a first down at the Cardinal 14. Brown stopped for no gain, then Pennington passes incomplete. Now third-and-10 at the 14, 5:36 left in the quarter, Pennington's pass for Camarillo at the back of the end zone incomplete. On fourth down, Carpenter's field goal from 32 yards is good and Miami dents the scoreboard for the first time, score now Arizona 24, Miami 3, 5:26 to play in the period. Drive was 11 plays, 58 yards, 5:03 possession.
Carpenter's kick downed in the end zone, Cardinals take over first-and-10 at their 20. James starts right, reverses left and stopped for one-yard loss. Cardinal tackle Levi Brown slow to get on his feet, walks to sidelines. Elton Brown now in at right tackle. Warner finds Boldin wide open over the middle for gain of 16 to the 35. Hightower starts left, runs for one, then James goes for two yards. On third-and-six, Warner complete to Fitzgerald near left sideline, runs for gain of 31 to the 31-yard line. Warner again to Fitzgerald on first down for 20 yards. First-and-10 at the 11 now, James runs for three, then Warner fires pass into end zone for Boldin, who makes a spectacular catch for the score. Rackers hits the extra point, Cards extend lead to 31-3, 1:27 left in the third quarter. Drive was eight plays, 80 yards, 3:59 possession.
Rackers kickoff short and high near left sideline, fielded by Nathan Jones at the 28 and stopped for no gain. Pennington passes incomplete on first down, then tosses to Bess on bubble-screen left side, play goes for seven. Now third-and-three at the 35, Pennington complete to Patrick Cobbs for five yards and a first down at the 40. Pennington back to pass, sacked by Bertrand Berry for loss of seven as third quarter winds down.
End of three quarters, Cardinals 31, Dolphins 3

4th Quarter
Miami opens the third quarter second-and-17 at its own 33. Dolphins called for false start, now second-and-22 at the 28. Pennington passes incomplete for Hagan, and on third-and-22, Pennington's pass incomplete to Camarillo. Fourth-and-22, Fields punt of 31 yards downed at the 41, Cards called for defensive holding, a 10-yard penalty.
Cardinals' ball first and 10 on the 31, 14:38 left to play. James finds huge hole on right side for nine yards, then adds five more for a first down at the 45. James again on first down, bottled up for no gain going left, then Warner on quick toss to Patrick coming off the line goes for five. Third-and-five at the 50-yard line, Warner passes incomplete to Fitzgerald. Flag on the play, however, Miami called for holding prior to the pass. Result is a first down at the 45-yard line, 11:36 left to play. James carries left, gets back to line of scrimmage, and on second-and-10 Warner passes to James over the middle but again for no gain. Now third-and-10 at the 45, Warner's pass to Fitzgerald falls incomplete. Johnson on to punt for Arizona, kick nearly downed at the goal line but ruled a touchback, a kick of 45 yards. However, Miami called for running into the kicker, a five-yard penalty, and a replay of fourth down. This time, Johnson's punt fair caught by Bess at the 11-yard line, a 29-yard punt.
Miami takes over first-and-10 at the 11, 9:42 left in the game. Chad Henne now in at quarterback for the Dolphins. Henne passes incomplete on first down, then finds Hagan on diving catch for 19 yards to the 30. Henne passes right to Bess for six yards, Miami now in no-huddle mode. Henne again passes right, this one to Williams for one yard. Third-and-three at the 37, Henne complete to Hagan for 12 yards and a first down. Hagan again to pass, complete over the middle to Brown for six yards, then Brown on a delay runs for five yards and a first down at the 39-yard line, clock running with 6:40 to play. Henne connects with Ted Ginn for nine yards to the 31. Cards called for offsides, penalty gives Dolphins first-and-10 at the 25. Under pressure, Henne throws incomplete on first down, then Williams takes a pitch wide right and runs for five yards. On third-and-five at the 20, Henne passes incomplete. Fourth-and-five at the 20-yard line, 5:01 left to play, Henne complete to Camarillo near left sideline for 14 yards and a first down at the six. Cards take first timeout with 4:55 left in the fourth quarter. Brown runs left, gains one yard on first down, then carries up the middle for two more. Third-and-goal at the three-yard line, 3:45 left, Henne under pressure by Darnell Dockett passes incomplete. But Cards called for defensive holding, result is first down at the one-yard line, 3:31 to play. Brown finds nothing up the middle, then Henne's pass to Brown in the end zone dropped. Third-and-goal at the one, Henne throws incomplete in corner of end zone. Fourth-and-goal, Brown knifes over into the end zone for a touchdown. Carpenter adds the extra point, score now Arizona 31, Miami 10, 2:38 left. Drive was 18 plays, 89 yards, 7:04 time of possession.
Miami kickoff unit lined up for onsides attempt, Fitzgerald makes leaping catch at the at the 39-yard line. Cards first-and-10 at the 39. Matt Leinart now at quarterback for Arizona. Hightower runs for four yards, Miami takes first timeout with 2:31 left in the game. On second-and-five at the 35, Cards call timeout, their second. Warner, on bootleg left, passes incomplete to Breaston, and on third-and-five Leinart finds Leonard Pope open over the middle for 15 yards and a first down to the 20-yard line at the two minute warning. Hightower runs right for one yard, then Leinart takes a knee on second down as clock ticking with just over a minute to play. On third down, Leinart another knee and time runs out.
Final score: Cardinals 31, Dolphins 10
