Carson Palmer is set to be behind center for the Cardinals in 2014.

Free agency begins on March 11. The Cardinals have many key pieces in place, but there are still needs to be addressed. We'll break it down by position over the next 10 days as unsigned players from around the NFL prepare to hit the open market.

Free agent primer: Quarterback

Cap numbers of players under contract for 2014: Carson Palmer ($12 million); Drew Stanton ($2.67 million); Ryan Lindley ($596,327)

Scheduled free agents: None

Need: Low

Analysis: Palmer is entrenched as the starter, while Stanton and Lindley are both under contract for next season. There is no one on the free agent market who moves the needle, and coach Bruce Arians has reiterated several times this offseason that Palmer will be his guy and that Stanton is a capable No. 2. The Cardinals could look for more of a long-term option in the draft, but they are not expected to be active in the quarterback market of free agency.

Notable scheduled NFL free agents: Michael Vick, Josh McCown, Josh Freeman, Chad Henne, Matt Flynn, Matt Cassel.

Notable past free agent QB signings by the Cardinals: Stanton (2013); Derek Anderson (2010); Kurt Warner (2005); Shaun King (2004); Boomer Esiason (1996); Jim McMahon (1994); Steve Beuerlein (1993).
