When you are the team with the No. 1 overall draft pick -- and that pick plays quarterback -- people are going to pay attention. So it's not a surprise that, among the 13 preseason games the NFL Network will carry live, two feature the Cardinals and Kyler Murray, with the press release noting that the game against the Chargers Aug. 8 is Murray's debut.
NFLN will have the Chargers game as well as the third preseason game in Minnesota on Aug. 24 -- which kicks off at 10 a.m. Arizona time. The Cardinals' second preseason game is also on national TV, a home game Aug. 15 against the Raiders on ESPN. That's good news for Cardinals' fans out of market who were hoping for an early viewing at the new-look Cards with Murray.
The NFL Network games will be blacked out locally, but that's because fans can already watch every Cardinals' preseason game (including the preseason finale in Denver) live on the NBC affiliate KPNX Ch. 12.
