It's early in free agency, with teams allowed to speak to players from other squads beginning Monday morning. But one thing has already been determined, even before the divorce from Kyler Murray becomes official: Malik Willis, a player linked to the Cardinals most of February, will not be the quarterback in Arizona.

Willis reportedly agreed to a contract with the Dolphins -- a three-year contract worth up to a reported $67 million -- to take him off the board. Whether Willis was ever a serious candidate for the Cardinals we may not ever know, but it also opens the door for Jacoby Brissett to remain the starter for the Cardinals for a second season.

The speculation has also had veteran Jimmy Garoppolo as an option to reunite with Mike LaFleur, who was Jimmy G's offensive coordinator with the Rams. Garoppolo is a free agent and could return to Los Angeles as Matthew Stafford's backup.

At some point, the Cardinals will need to sign a QB, whether it is Garoppolo or someone else. Once Murray moves on, it is Brissett and Kedon Slovis for the time being.

The Cardinals are also a team that could land 49ers receiver Kendrick Bourne, with one report saying he has a good relationship with LaFleur. A veteran is needed in the wideout room with Zay Jones reaching free agency.

Again a reminder none of the players switches can become official before Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Cardinals won't be putting any additions on their official channels before it's announced (and players need to pass physicals before signing.)
